You’re giving Blizzard too much credit, they’re honestly not that smart and tend to go for more direct references to mythology.
Jailer is the bad guy but I suspect he was a good person before he was wronged by the other first ones.
They won’t wash away her sins at this point I don’t believe. I think they are trying to do a bigger pay off and to milk Sylvanas some more so she may very well not even die this expansion., not far fetched to think the Jailer getting defeated and Xa’latath showing up, grabbing Sylvanas as Sylvanas ends up being a Raid Boss in 10.0
Logically looking at it, she is beyond redemption and should have a final farewell this expansion but part of me thinks they’ll do an Azshara on her and she’ll be a part of 10.0 sadly. Hope I’m wrong.
Elune is very mysterious. It’s quite possible she is part of a bigger picture of baddies going around.
What if the real Sylvanas was the friends we made along the way?

That stupid wind chime was obnoxious though. “You are all so bad for killing Illidan the chosen one!!!” Lady, that was like 10 years ago and he dropped loot.
Yea but she wouldn’t have been so annoying if they didn’t re-write Illidan so badly in the first place.
Blizz has already said the Jailer will be the final boss, so I dont see him secretly being a good guy happening.
