I’m genuinely concerned about the direction Blizzard is taking with class balance in World of Warcraft Patch 11.05. It’s becoming more and more evident that certain classes are favored while others continue to struggle without any meaningful buffs. Is this blatant class discrimination?
Take Death Knights, Rogues, and Mages as prime examples. These classes were already performing well in various aspects of the game, especially in terms of damage and utility. Yet in 11.05, they’ve received more buffs, further cementing their dominance in both PvE and PvP content.
On the other hand, we have Warriors. Warriors have been struggling in single-target damage now, and many players have been voicing their concerns. Yet, despite these complaints, there are no significant buffs or adjustments to their single-target damage in this latest update. It feels like Blizzard is turning a blind eye to the issues that Warriors are facing, which is incredibly frustrating for those of us who have been loyal to this class.
And let’s talk about Mythic+—Warriors provide almost no utility there. We lack any form of dispel for diseases, poisons, curses, or enrages, making us feel like dead weight compared to classes that can help out the team with these mechanics. Our only real group support, Rallying Cry, feels like a joke. A 3-minute cooldown for just a 10% health boost? It’s hardly impactful in any critical situation. Meanwhile, other classes bring so much more utility, both in terms of buffs and crowd control, that it’s hard to justify bringing a Warrior over other choices.
Why is it that already strong classes are being made stronger, while others that are clearly underperforming are left behind? It’s creating a gap that makes the game less enjoyable for those who don’t play these favored classes. Balancing the game is not an easy task, but completely neglecting the issues with certain specs while over-tuning others just makes it worse.
Blizzard, please take a closer look at the state of class balance. It’s time to give underperforming classes like Warriors the attention they deserve. We want a game that feels fair and competitive for everyone, not just the players who happen to play the “right” classes.
