Illidans warglaves ARE usable by a class that came out 9 years later. I can equip them if I wanted to, the legendaries. So again, what does that even mean?
Okay let me rephrase that since you want to get so literal.
They are not going to make an item introduced in BC only usable by a class that came out 9 years later.
It isnât literal, itâs being specific with what you mean. That one word changes the entire meaning of the sentence.
Normally Iâd agree with you but there is the problem of that transmog being tied to an achieve and limited to a class now. If they change it theyâre going to have a lot of very unhappy people. If they donât theyâll have a lot of very unhappy people. Thatâs why I think which way they go is a crap shoot at the moment. The fact the glaives canât be mogged on the PTR at this point is a bit telling in which direction they are leaning.
I mean, it shouldnât really be hard to understand the meaning of that statement given the context but okay.
I donât really see how itâd be that big of a deal. Allow ppl whoâve obtained them to transmog them and have the glaives use sword animations since that is what they are. And then people who do TW Illidan unlock the warglaive variant of the transmog for their DHâs which uses warglaive animations.
Wow genius, blizzard hire this man since you are clearly a small indie company.
Still no confirmed answer yetâŚ

And with the direction the devs have been going for a while now.
Iâm glad I read this, as I no longer have to run BT. My poor rogue though. I hate to be the one to have to tell herâŚ
I really canât fathom why Blizzard canât give us a straight answer on such a simple matter like this.
Blizz, donât do it. Donât give into people.
DH only.
Why should only DHâs get to transmog a pair of swords?

Do they look like swords? What are they called again I forget sometimes.
Warswords of Azzinoth⌠or?
Are they classified as swordsâŚor?
Looks like we found the core issue, then.
Thatâs a very, very convincing argument. I think I must retract everything I said now.
If the item classification says it, it must be true.
I didnât realize it was that easy! Whew!
Sweet, glad you see it how it is now.
And donât worry, DHâs would still have a form of exclusivity with them. I.E. the weapons look better sheathed on their back and they have the ability to have them use warglaive animations.
EDIT:
Iâd also like to add that the Warglaives arenât the only weapons in the game with questionable classifications. Here are 2 examples of weapons in the game that show this:
Yeah wowhead says these will stay demon hunter exclusive:(((
PSA to anyone else going for the demon hunter look who doesnt wanna be a silly elf, with the new tint enchants you can have some colored glaives look alikes with felgore double blade from hfc(even sheathes like a glaive on back)
Now we just need a green tint but im assuming weâll get a few new tints with shadowlands or covenants(already have blue and new purple tint in 8.3)
*Many legendary weapons are now transmogrifiable.
** Developersâ note: The Warglaives of Azzinoth dropped from Illidan in Black Temple are the one exception, as a custom method for Demon Hunters in particular to obtain this transmog appearance already exists through Black Temple Timewalking, and we do not want to diminish the value of that unique reward.*
From the notes on the patch on this very website. They are only for us. Itâs under âitems and rewardsâ. https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/23227147
I donât see how anyone could imagine otherwise.
The most iconic of all glaives and they just happen to be useable by multi classes? When glaives, in general, are limited to DH only?
Nah.
Good job Blizzard.
Considering the drop rate, Iâd love to see youâŚâgo get themâ.
Please humor us.
Come again now?
