I feel the whole reason Blizzard came up with twitch drops is to make up for their typical failed launch. They know their servers can’t handle launch and are unwilling to spend money to upgrade it so they give certain players a priority flag on their account so they can play the game launch day. The rest of the players are encouraged to watch them play as a distraction from the fact they won’t be able to play themselves.
just finished up my requirements for the Twitch drops, claimed them off their website, and now logged in to find i can immediately unwrap them in game.
indeed, that part of launch went silky smooth for my experience
Wait, were we supposed to watch the streams? I thought Blizz just wanted us to hide it in the background. I was playing Pokemon all night.
The new pokemon looks like fun I would play it but can only get into 1 game at a time and right now thats wow.
Huh. I claimed mine on the site, but nothing showed up in game. I figured it would take a while.
I was able to claim the mount. But the code I got for the pets is telling me it’s invalid so I put in a ticket to Blizzard about that.
I really wish they’d make a pokemon game of the same quality as Breath of the Wild.
What servers do they use? And which servers should they upgrade to for more stable launches?
Anybody that thinks this was a failed launch has not played a lot of other MMOs. People just love to complain. After the initial 15 minute issue with the boat, about 48 out of 50 in my guild had no issues. This launch was perfectly fine. I was impressed by how smoothly it went.
I wish that was everyone’s experience.
I managed to get to the Dragon Isles, and then got DCd. And then I was unable to log in for 2 hours (and not for lack of trying). When I managed to actually log in, everything I clicked on took 40-60 seconds to react (dialogs, objects, loot). It’s still laggy, 5 hours later.
This isn’t fine. This isn’t smooth. BFA and SL were smooth, not this. People are not complaining for the sake of complaining. Even when you had a perfect launch, many people didn’t. They have the right to complain.
Grats on a smooth experience!
i’m just gonna become a streamer so i get special servers and blizz will actually care about me.
Though it took a little time to come through, I was eventually able to get my mount. I’m more concerned about the pet. I gifted some subscriptions, paid for them and everything, but now I can’t find any proof that I did so. No codes were sent. I will have to check my credit card now to see if I was charged or not.
You have to include the dashes when you input the code. I had the same problem at first until I added the dashes.
Could someone remind me of the perfect MMO live launches by games that can field as many logins as wow?
I was definitely charged I have the receipts from Twitch to prove it.
Personally my launch day experience wasn’t that bad. There was some issue with the boats but I was able to use the teleport to get over just fine and didn’t experience any issues at all once in DF. Heck I managed to knock out 5 levels already.
This was probably the smoothest launch yet. The servers were literally up at launch and no wait time.
