Blizzard, there's no fun in doing world quests and the rewards are meaningless

Please modernize open world content like other mmo do. World quests are super duper boring and offer 0 reward, all of them being so meaningless. AP, war ressources and gold are literally a joke. Killing mobs as fast as you can like they were dps dummies is a joke. The open world content is boring and the rewards suck. It's time to modernize it like other MMOs have (just look at GW2).

I don't play GW2 anymore. What makes GW2 open world content more fun than WoW? What could WoW do that it currently isn't?
I laugh when I see a world quest and it's reward is like "50 gold"

I'm just like "lol really?"

They are even better when they are off in the middle of nowhere and the reward is 75 war resources. Um, yeah, no thanks.

Exactly, Please give examples of how you want them to change the content. Just saying its bad and needs to be changed doesn't help any one.
I'm not trying to minimize your post or change the topic... I agree whole-heartedly though I don't know what GW2 is like anymore, haven't played since 2 months after its release. I just had nothing to add but I agree.

So I add this: I find this ridiculous and sad at the same time...

Just one short month ago, people were moaning on the forums that mobs were still hard to kill at 120 - and ilvl 340 they were "harder than when they were level 110."

In that one month, we've become too OP for the world. :(

Its not that we're too op, its that the rewards absolute trash. 50 gold, 100 resources, 200 azerite power. Lol WOW THANKS! Dont forget about those 340 weapons. I definitely need those....... Im having the least amount of fun playing this game more than ever. Island expeditions are horrible, no incentive to do any quests, could honestly care less about getting my neck leveled. Boring boring BORING.
Because its super fun running to the most out the way place on the map to spend too long knocking out mobs that give 4/100% per all for the gold a green boe will give. I don't even think flying will get me to put up with such low rewards. Paragon carrots neither, if they have a stupid low drop chance for mounts. Despite endless emissaries, I'm still missing most of the legion paragon mounts. Nope. Nope. Nope.

He doesn't have to come up with a solution. That's the devs' jobs! He is doing what he should be... clearly articulating what exactly it is that he doesn't like.
Rewards should continue to scale to your current ilvl that’s monetary and war resources as well
The rewards are lackluster to say the least.

Which leads to what I think is the saddest thing about them. Is that the first thing I look for is what are the 4 easiest and fastest ones I can complete.

Even for me a person who doesn’t raid and has fairly crappy gear I don’t get any rewards I need from them.
Dailies in any form have anyways been boring and only rewarding up to a certain point. I'd love to know what other mmos the op is comparing them to because every other one is just as boring.

Why is that sad? That's smart if you're just trying to get the emissary.
I go for the fastest ones. I won't do the CoA or turtles one right away either. I try and save those for when others pop and get credit for 2 emissaries so I can do the least amount of wqs possible.

I’m all for efficiency but it just feels kind of sad to me that I’m looking for 4 single target quests regardless of reward just so I can be done.

or even worse 150 azerite power, I haven't done many world quests on this toon, I do on my herbalist because i'm out herbing, even then I pick and choose, usually it's quests with gear so I can at least use the scrapper and sell the mats.
For a fresh 120 with gear in the 270 range and having to skip table missions because you haven't found every chest in the zone, WQ are very useful.

just because it's not useful to You, doesn't make it totally useless to the other thousands of players.

I will agree that the rewards could scale higher as you progress.

75 war resources is enough to run a couple missions — and do three of these 75 resource WQs and you’re on your way to buying one token. Seems acceptable to me.

And to the OP, where should the cutoff be for scaling rewards for armor/weapons? If the objectives are really easy, as you mantion, it would appear the rewards are commensurate with the difficulty.

I do think you could make them more fun by being dynamic: world quests based on the NPCs like in the island expeditions that attack outposts / other NPCs, maybe something like Rift’s invasions: they were somewhat like Legion’s assaults except much more freeform. Mobs would spawn at random locations in a zone and move to capture outposts/flightpaths, preventing Players from using them. The players would have to band together to push back these NPCs and then destroy their spawn points.

After doing this, a big boss would spawn and folks would go and murder it. It was much more lively than static world quests.
I despise this whole scaling thing. No feeling of any progression whatsoever. Still takes far too long to kill a random wild crab or fawn that decides it wants to join in. Some heroes we are when crabs, and baby deer give us grief.

As far as rewards go, they are the pits. They've completely destroyed the loot from old dungeons and raids, and open world drops. As far as current content goes, what drops? I see gear for myself so seldomly that I've come to barely notice anymore. The boss drops, and mob drops are the most boring I've ever seen. AP, and some chump change. Nothing neat, or interesting. No pets, no junk, no reagents, nothing. I haven't had one single open world blue or purple drop for me, in BFA zones, since it went live. Not a single one. I also haven't had a single pet drop for me in old raids since BFA went live. The devs have really ruined most of the fun this game still has to offer, being the old non-bfa zones.

Hate to break this to you, but better rewards for doing world quests isn’t gonna change the “fun” aspect. And you are forgetting the most important reward for doing them, reputation. That is unless you’re exalted with everyone already.
