Blizzard: The WoW community demands an answer on character services outbreak

Several of us BOUGHT your character services, you disabled them without notice, leaving but a little banner on the launcher. You selling something you cannot deliver.

Name change
Faction change
Realm transfer
Boost a character
Buy or redeem a WoW Token

It’s showing up as purchased for me, I’ve got the icon at the top of my character load screen but, when I click it then select the character and enter the new name, it just tells me to click next, which i do and it shows me the old name and the new name (both with green check marks) and there’s no way to confirm or accept it. Closing it doesn’t make it stick either :frowning:

This is not a point of contact for Blizzard staff. This forum is supported by fellow players for P2P troubleshooting. Forum Tech Support agents haven’t been here for two years.

Blizzard already posted messaging on the services issues in the Bnet launcher (before maintenance), on Twitter, and on BlueSky. I’m sure they’ll post an update when there is actually is one.

I picked this weekend to return after a long break, my fault i guess.

Unable to use my boost or any name changes i purchased. This needs to be fixed immediately

Same - pre-purchased War Within, life got in the way, never played. Just pre-purchased the $90 edition of Midnight, thought I’d do the content and try to catch up… and boost doesn’t work. I also had PTO to burn or lose for the end of the year so took off 10/7-10/20… and waiting on this boost to work :frowning:

Voicing concern is okay. They monitor all channels.

I wouldn’t waste your time trying to redirect flak for a major company.

So basically what I’m hearing is that this situation has now gone on for two days with no response from Blizzard. It sounds to me (and not just in the forums; check out YouTube videos about this!) that Blizzard is becoming one of those huge corporations that don’t care about their customers so long as the money keeps coming in. This is more than a couple of people complaining, folks. LOTS of these requests come into them every day! Now we’ve been cut off from any response to our complaints? I have a doctor’s appointment that I have to leave for shortly, but if I still don’t have my character services requests tomorrow, I will be canceling my subscription and moving to another game! If we all do that, maybe Blizzard will get the hint about customer service!

The good news is they are aware and are working on returning the service. Unfortunately the response you are hoping for may not come from this forum though. Usually that comes from Community or Social Media. Community tends to communicate through the General Discussion forum, Social Media on X and BlueSky, both should be @BlizzardCS.

Pointing to different sources is the best we can offer here, being as it is mainly around crashes, latency, install errors, not services as fellow players.

Literally same boat. I got a random couple days off together and figured I would dive back in and womp.

Lvl boost now work but still with bugs. Can’t “Swith fly style”. NPC in city of threads don’t talk to you, even though the entire campaign is complete and you have renown 25lvl. Renown with Karesh now 0 lvl (was 5)

Hate to say it, but your best bet is to wait. Yeah I know there’s some things that Blizzard can be maddening on, but cut them some slack here. They’ll fix the issue as quick as they can. They always do.

They should be enabled, but anything else should be reported to the Bug Report forum please, for developer review.
