Most have agreed they need to look good during their pet battles.
But no one has addressed or cared to point out that this high level of gear is sending inexperienced players straight to keys in 6 who die in simple mechanics.
In keys you need experience. You need to know the fight.
I have seen many level 700 players who don’t execute proper mechanic in where to stand in the dragon fight.
This is directly due to the high level gear we have been getting from delves and yes the time walking also contributed.
Because T 11 recommends 691 so having 694 gear means being able to do T 11 much easier on repeat. But since this is a topic about solo content and not about gear levels, I made a thread just for you that I will re-share with you again.
I am not a delve hater, for me they just did not cut it. As I said, they were a flop (for me!). But I have noticed a great deal of support for delves (which is okay and even makes me happy) and solo content in this expansion in general, as if it were an outlier among expansions. I guess it is the contrast with DF that stands out also.
And btw, not just SL, but even BfA and Legion – if you did not care about the weekly caps and grinds etc, and keeping up with others – had more solo content. However, it was not possible to earn relatively competitive gear with any solo-only method in those three expansions. So my conclusion is that it has to be the gear.
And to also somewhat answer my own question from before: I think the fact that gear drops at all in delves is important, and it might not even matter to many that they do not need it. The fact that it drops is an acknowledgment from Blizz that the solo players matter. And I think this is registered by a lot of people on a subconscious level, hence the noticeable shift in satisfaction levels.
Wind to the sails of delves. I hope they add more puzzles and improve on them though.
I would perhaps make it so the gear obtained through delves could not be converted into tier but Idk. Maybe have delve gear with its own unique upgrade track with more steps (10 perhaps) to prolong the grind. But Idk, these ideas are wild. I dont think they will backtrack on them providing heroic item level gear though. Also with delves especially the item level is deceptive, most trinkets especially are super bad no matter how high their item level is.
I would also provide more avenues through which the coffer keys can be obtained as the same world events week in week out - especially if done on multiple characters - are extremely nauseatingly boring.
that question has been answered THOUSANDS of times in here since i started playing in 2017…they just keep pretending they arent getting an answer so they can keep sealioning in here.
I will say Legion’s content was enjoyable. Class halls were great. Let me say the second half of Legion was awesome. The first half, not so much. The ridiculously restrictive AP was terrible.
Now, BFA was so bland it was terrible. You had to get certain azerite armor abilities to even make your spec feel good to play. They tore down specs so much you had to grind out at least some of the nonsense in order to make your class feel remotely alright to play.
SL was the bottom of the barrel worst of the worst. Here’s why I think that:
SL was so tedious it crossed the line from fun to chore. WQs for example was “kill 10 enemies” but wait there’s more hidden requirements now “kill 15 of these guys” but wait there’s more hidden requirements now “collect 5 of these things” but wait there’s more hidden requirements now “kill this one guy”…NOW you’re done…with one single WQ and you get a piddly 35 anima. You needed THOUSANDS to get anything. I can’t tell you how much I loathed SL.
It’s character progression. It’s one of the backbones of RPGs. The vast majority of people that play RPGs enjoy seeing their characters progress.
Also being able to get the mogs is a huge reason for many, including myself.
I hope for fun improvements to delves. I’d like to see some different mechanics but not exactly hopeful for it lol.
You maybe right in this one. Now that is the easiest way to get hero pc. Can you imagine this to how times where legion.
Nice point. I also thought give them their own upgrade system and crests. This will keep solo and group players out of each others content.
Yes but the crests and upgrade suggestion is fair ask.
Delvers don’t get into keys.
Why are key players given this easy gear ? We can apply that gear obtained from delves should only be upgraded bundles crests. This wil atleast out some pressure on key pushers.
I think Torghast would have great potential when it is brought back as well and untied from legendaries or weekly chores to remain viable for raid / m+. Especially if they expanded it to included all different environments / biomes and hundreds of different mob types and themes WoW has.
I think the puzzles, rares, boss fights and power-ups were actually quite fun, although it really depended what class you were (and they can tune it better for the future).
Another idea for some more solo content is completely procedurally generated content a la No Man´s Sky + Proving Grounds + “a living world system” where mobs and the environment (and the weather, as you climb higher?) evolve between runs, gaining new abilities and countering your previous strategies.
just brainstorming.
Also for delves in particular, there should be an option to forego bringing the companion with us.
