Blizzard Store Token Redemption

I am trying to race change my hunter. I bought and used a WoW Token to put $15 on my account. I went to the Blizzard store to buy the race change. At checkout the price of the race change was still $25. I bought the transaction thinking it would discount my purchase.

The transaction went though and an icon of a triangle with a gear showed up on my character login screen and said “in process”.

Now, the icon is gone, my character hasn’t changed and it looks like the purchase did not go through.

Any thoughts?

I’m confused here, admittedly. For my clarification, you bought a token and the race change would be discounted why? Or were you meaning that you wanted to split the payment, paying partially with balance and partially with a card?

I cashed in the token for $15. I was under the impression that I could use that money on my blizzard account as currency to discount the price of services.

Now my Blizzard account screen shows a balance of $15 and a transaction of $25 pending.

A token converted to balance isn’t automatically applied to the next purchase, and you can’t partially fund a purchase with token and then pay the balance with another form.

Yes, it’s weird and backwards and unexpected, but here we are.

Add more to your balance to pay for the entire transaction (including tax), or prepare to pay for the entire transaction (including tax) with another payment form.

I keep saying “including tax” because people are surprised all the time that digital goods are charged sales taxes in the majority of US tax jurisdictions.

Gottcha. Sadly, it doesn’t work like that. When you went to complete the payment, it would have given you the option in the drop-down to choose your form of payment. It won’t draw from the balance unless you choose to pay with that method if you have the available funds. If you left it as going on your debit/credit card, then that was charged and you still have that Blizzard Balance.

The system doesn’t allow for split payments, it doesn’t draw partial from one and then the rest from another. I’m sorry it’s not a better answer for you.

Well, how do I stop the transaction now then? I figured something that had a balance would be currency in my account.

I would hate to have to stop payment on my banks side.

What does it say in your transaction history for the purchase’s status?

Pending $25

The only thing I can really suggest is you try the self-help refund service:

https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/wf/services/334/1997/submitted

If it’s accepted, it’ll just take whatever time to process the hold release/refund.

Thank you for your help. Appreciate it.

Most welcome! Hope it all works out for you. Afterwards, like Sniperorc said, you can just add directly to your Blizzard Balance with your debit card to cover the full price of service and tax and complete it that way.
