The game is so much better when we finally unlock flying 8 months into the expansion… Why cant we just buy flying once we have reached max level!!
Do people really like mindlessly ground mounting around ?
Being able to fly has been a fresh breath and has brought me back after months of a break.

I had no interest in alts till I got flying unlocked. Ground exploring, getting lost, not being able to find the way I’m supposed to go… That’s all main stuff; I don’t want that more than once thru. :X

Came back recently and the grind for flying is starting to destroy my patience getting to the point where I dont want to even continue trying to unlock it. Been doing all the emissary and world quests and doing that stuck on foot between the dazes and people swooping in on mounts for wq targets…frustrating

Said it a thousand times already and I’ll say it a thousand more (or until I lose interest in wow entirely). Pathfinding is allowed but it MUST be attainable from day one. I propose instead of forcing ground mounts they use a quest system where you unlock the zone by completing it’s story (and dungeon I suppose). Then if you’re flying in an unlocked zone you have to be careful because much like hovering over an enemy faction fort you could be shot down. At least then there’s a reason to consider “eh maybe I’ll just use my horse” instead of “Oh goodie seven months until I can unlock flying… again”. If they go that route for 9.0 then I will skip wow until part 2 is unlocked it’s not as if the content will go anywhere while I’m gone lol. Alternatively in that seven month period I find something that draws me into it and I don’t care about wow anymore.

I like the pathfinder system tbh. Flying is good but you should have to earn it. The requirements aren’t really outrageous and can be done in about 2 weeks without putting in too much work after hitting 120.
I wonder what price people would be willing to pay if it was a purchase. People say “I just want to buy it” but not saying how much. Would you pay 100k? 1mil? Per character maybe? I prefer not having the huge gold sink even though I probably could afford a cheaper one. I can get behind a paid alternative to pathfinder for older expansions if you don’t want to go do all the old zones though, but keeping the achievement and mount reward where applicable tied to achievements so people have a reason to grind ot out anyway.

If they simply made it so you could fly once the x.1 patch comes out, I would be happy. x.2 is too long to wait.

I’m fine with everything BUT the rep grind honestly ff14’s system for flying unlock is my favorite

Why does it need to be some extreme price? If blizzard was to offer a paid solution then I’d say call it “Regional Awareness”. You can fly in said zones and you’ll get a larger buffer for when mobs come to attack you. A nominal fee of 2-5k max it’s reasonable enough to part with but not so extreme that you need to contact a goblin cartel just to fund it.

Making flying available would definitely open up “Alt Friendly” game play! Being able to fly has made me start pushing some alts up with rested XP. I hope they go away from this pathfinder crap.
we explore the continents on the first way through to max level. reward us with flying !!

If you unlock flying on one character it does it for your account. I think this is fair.

Flying has kept me in the game. It is 2019 almost 2020…
Just let us pay for it like we did in 1 xpac, that worked very well

its honestly awful… with Najaztar being nothing but mountains and awful terrain on ground. idk why blizz does that crap to us! people already dont like the daily grind of WQ… dont make it unbearable with terrain.

If they gate flying again next expansion, there’s a 100% chance that I will stop playing until it’s implemented and 50% chance that I might not come back.

The grinding should give a speed boost and a special mount for the pathfinder and maybe a title if people get all of them. The mount training should be returned so people can just use gold. Gate locking it was quite possibly one of their more dumb decisions. Though, knowing blizzard, they’ll rack the gold fee up so high we’ll wish otherwise.

The only reason FF14 can do that is because each zone is a separate instance, and the way in and out of each zone is carefully controlled. One of WoW’s strengths is that there are no loading times when you’re in the same continent and you’re free to enter and exit any zone into another one.

Just get it over with and let lvl 1 toons fly. It’s so great we need it from the get go. Let’s get it in BGs too. Come on, it’s 2019. Get with it.

its too bad how many people quit at max level because they are locked to ground mounts to do the daily WQ grind… just get over it and let us fly at max level!!! they would probably keep 40% more of a sub base!

the loading between zones is irrelevant wow could just give you a warning when you get near a zone line that you have to land or force the land automatically. Final Fantasy could’ve added beast tribe rep to equate to wows rep grind but they didn’t.
