Blizzard Silently Nerfed Dual-Wield Killing Machine Proc Rate in Shadowlands

I wish you would take your own advise…

Try reading it slower, the quote is completely on topic given the discussion and your vitreous toxicity.

Yea, that’s not how it works.

There are many things that I think they should do as well. Returning Necrotic Plague for Unholy and make Gary Baseline.

That doesn’t mean they will.

I guess it’s a matter of perspective, but being balanced against itself, and then having those build variations balanced/compared to other classes doesn’t really seem to be true.

Frost is currently doing okay in raid due to the sheer amount of cleave fights keeping it from dropping to the bottom of the charts like unholy.

In PvP frost has a very low representation and is currently one of the weakest melees with arguably some of the easiest goes to stop due most melees having a disarm, all of their damage tied to PoF, multiple modifier nerfs, and having abysmal crit in PvP gear.

In mythic + frost is completely over shadowed by WW, fury, havoc and I’d argue survival. Outside of niche utility for mechanics like sanguine, and MC’ing inspired adds in select dungeons, DK brings nothing notable to the table. So if DK is bringing average to below average damage, why bring one; currently goes for both frost and unholy.

Then you have weird class disconnects. Blood and unholy have a baseline cleave interaction with DnD yet frost doesn’t; which puts obliteration in a terrible position when cleave is involved, and makes breath builds hit like a wet noodle outside of CDs. Unholy gets a baseline aoe spender, frost does not; here we get boring passive talents lumped in RW which does nothing for gameplay value imo and further hurts current talent selection for frost.

No class should be able to do everything/perform the best in every scenario obviously, but both frost and unholy are currently two of the worst performing melees across all content. Set bonuses from 9.2 might change that, but it won’t do anything to fix a lot of the core issues frost has. Sure frost and unholy may be “viable”, but I wouldn’t consider them competitive or balanced with respect to other classes and content. It comes across as very odd to see you suggest otherwise.

I too would be happy with some more DK buffs in 9.2.

So then why all the complaints regarding 2h throughout the entire expansion and no one told them too bad? But now its ok to tell me too bad and basically tell all the other people who like playing BoS or DW Obliteration the same thing.

I tried to say dont split the spec well before SL. If anything it should address the issues which in all honesty only 1 issue was even attempted to fix.

I didn’t bother reading past the first sentence and im not going to read your quote either. Doesnt matter if you tell me to read it slow of fast when im not going to read it.

Next time try not starting your post with something that would make others not care what the rest of your post says.

Out of the top 10 classes in Mythic raids at the 90 percentile, 7 of them are melee. There is only 1 other melee with DK, and then you have Enhance which is needing some big time buffs of some sort. So from the bottom in terms of melee its enhance, Unholy, Feral and then Frost. The rest are basically at the top.

I dont see the Frost set to improve things at all and its just this interspec argument going on instead of a focus on the spec. Not to mention there are still a lot of bosses in the raid that deals with aoe, getting on another target that wont have stacks on it and in M+ people arent having a good time with it either.

Where frost is in the standings I dont know but the people on the PTR arent singing high praises for it and are saying its performing pretty poorly which I can see with the poor design of the tier set where you might as well just run RI on a weapon to have stacks on important things instead of waiting to build them up depending on if you are in a PoF window or just having to hope for KM procs.

These things are already happening to people with the tier set. So ultimately its really just 8% crit with RW active and GA damage.

People will just see a big disparity between sims and what they see in game, probably even bigger now if they follow the sims which is st patchwerk fights. People will come to the forums complaining, demanding buffs of this that and the other. By that time, it might just be too late and Blizzard wont do anything anyways because its the end of the expansion.

Biceps thanks for updating us on the calculation, appreciate your attentiveness to the class!

You know, one of the things I really enjoyed about FFXIV was the stated potency (not damage since there are modifiers all the time that change it). It just really helped distill everything down to a functional rotation that didn’t require extra research to grasp.

Wow gets very mathy, most of which we see and some that we don’t. Modifiers on attacker and defender being in constant flux is also another layer that makes figuring this out on the fly annoying.

Anyway, thanks for updating all of us.

Wanted to get some insight on the topic. Found this Kelliste guy. Has to be trolling or just ignorant. Has made what could have been a productively discussed thread, something full of arguing, name calling, and unnecessary banter.

maybe it was a “bug”…

then don’t. simple. it only matters to people like you that think every single thing has to be fully balanced so YOU can play what YOU enjoy AND be top dog. to people like you, this is balance.

me too, then i can go back to maining my baby. =]

Holy crap I haven’t played this game in nearly 6 months and kelliste still isn’t banned from this forum for trolling. At the very least there should be a misinformation and annoying flame clause.

I had a post taken down almost immediately yesterday. It wasn’t egregious or anything. Yet they let this bozo continue talking in circles disrupting any productive thread for going on over a year now.

Seriously made me laugh. What a joke. GG mods. Least there is discord.

Nope, it wasnt a bug. The reason why 2h started hitting harder than DW was because of MotFW which increased melee damage at the very least and then later including Obliterate damage which increased it even further.
