I’m tired of having to go all the way through the Shadowlands story to get to covenants. After you’ve done it once, you should be able to pick a faction in Oribos and go there and quest instead of having to do a bunch of content you don’t want to do repeatedly.
Why would you ever want to go there again? Use Chromie time and level somewhere else.
If it’s just for transmog, you can unlock threads of fate at level 60.
This is the first time I’ve heard of Threads of Fate. I imagine once you start doing the Bastion stuff, it’s too late.
Probably. If you go to Shadowlands for the first time on a level 60+ character, they stop you on your way in and ask whether you want threads of fate or the campaign. It’s a one time choice and is permanent I believe.
If you choose threads of fate, you can access any zone but the campaign quests are all completed. You just go straight to world quests and side quests.
I went before level 30, and nobody asked me about skipping anything. I don’t know why you’d level-lock this feature if the zone opens at 10.
I was doing some testing on that just last month. I leveled a few toons (1 mage, 3 warriors) from 53-60 (mage was 56-60) in Shadowlands and a level 10-60 toon (paladin) as well. None of them were offered Threads of Fate upon arrival in Oribos, but all of them did the Maw intro. Maybe that has to be skipped, but I figured the intro was easy xp and short enough so meh. For each toon, I had to go to Roh-Tahl in Oribos at 60 to get Threads of Fate to skip the rest of the leveling campaign and pick a covenant. He didn’t offer it before 60 which I had tested on one toon at 59. Just to test it further, I leveled one to 60, took her to him to see if he offered Threads of Fate which he did, but I didn’t accept it and instead went to DF to hit 61. I returned to Roh-Tahl at 61 and Threads of Fate was now gone.
Threads of Fate should honestly, at bare minimum, be available to all characters level 60+. It shouldn’t be available while you’re only at level 60. Again, I don’t know if you have to skip the Maw intro to get Threads of Fate on a toon before 60 or if you specifically have to be level 10 to get it before 60. I do know for sure that you can only get it at 60. One of the warriors I intentionally took to 61. The mage I leveled first and didn’t even think about Threads of Fate until after she was already 61. I honestly didn’t know that was still available until after. She started the 3 warriors and 1 paladin testing spree.
I can’t say I care for Shadowlands for personal reasons, but to barricade so much of it behind finishing the leveling campaign or hoping you remember to go to Roh-Tahl when you hit 60 makes the expansion even worse. To have to spend hours doing a campaign on a toon you may have already done potentially several times gets old fast. I leveled 5 toons in about 6 weeks to test Threads of Fate and it got old very quickly. A max level toon shouldn’t have to go through the Shadowlands leveling campaign.
Maybe he likes it? Prefers it? Wants to do stuff there?
The Shadowlands system of “threads of fate” which locks away quests was an incredibly bad decision, which is why DF allows both now. Blizz just needs to go back and open both up.
Pretty sure that once you hit 60 you can just go talk to the Threads NPC (out behind the inn in Oribos) to skip the rest of the campaign. Assuming you’ve completed it once on your account already. All they did was remove Threads for leveling.
Unfortunately, for most, yes. ToF seems to only be working for 60+ who haven’t touched SL content. Sometimes it works randomly for others at 60+ who did start the content. But it’s buggy.
Meta achievement for Soul Eater mount.
They decided that since it’s part of Chromie Time, it’s there to experience the whole story.
Yes, it was a bad decision to remove ToF.
I really meant why would anyone go there for leveling - there are better places to level.
I wasn’t trying to suggest there isn’t a reason to go there. I was just curious what the OP’s reason was.
