Blizzard should just remove mythic raid

It’s very clear that the content is too difficult, even for most players who are already considered above average. There is a total of 170 guilds currently that have killed mythic Fyrakk. WoW has a around 2 million players, so that would mean 0.17% of the total playerbase has killed fyrakk on mythic.

In Blizzcon 2005 Kaplan stated in reference to raid difficulty, “You can turn that knob of difficulty up on the players… if you ratchet it up to high it creates a lot of frustration on the playerbase.” WoW has changed over the years and so has the playerbase, what was “challenging” then is nowhere near that now.

But I think what he said still holds true, I think Mythic raiding is needlessly difficult and the ridiculous required level of coordination and emphasis on boss “difficulty” has resulted in frustration for much of the playerbase and tainted the experience of a fun activity.

So we can lose more player base? This has to be a troll post. Worst take I’ve ever seen, and I’m trying to get pvp servers back (which most people don’t agree with) but this thread is worse.

Raiding is a dated concept.

We’d probably gain players, maybe we lose 0.20% but honestly it doesn’t really matter. Of the people who mythic raid most of them only kill the first few bosses for loot drops.

Why would we gain players for removing something that’s not mandatory?

i kinda agree with this. kiljaden for example. nyalotha was my last attempt at mythic raiding cause… well… i guess i suck now? idk.
i dont want it removed but i do want all of the mechanics that would be on mythic be on heroic.

New rule, you don’t get to comment about stuff you don’t/never will do.

Mythic raiding is mandatory if you care about character progression. But aside from that it creates an unhealthy distinction between the players who are willing to subject themselves to something as unenjoyable as mythic raid vs the people who aren’t. (i.e., casuals/elitists dichotomy)

raiding isn’t a terrible experience if the content isn’t tuned for the best 2 guilds in the world for half of a patch

What do you suggest instead? Do you have an alternative plan?

If I’m content having done AotC and don’t want to try to push keys past 20, how is it mandatory? Could argue that it might be mandatory for key pushers regardless of their interest in raiding due to BiS, and that would have some credence. Raiders who need BiS from M+ only have to do 18+ for myth track vault. Mythic is the hard stop of difficulty for raiding, you can’t go beyond that, but for keys it’s infinitely scaling so they have to get the best possible gear for them.

However, character progression can end where you want it to end.

I haven’t done any mythic raiding, I’m slightly interested though. That being said, just because you find it unenjoyable does not mean others don’t. I get stressed sometimes during raiding or keys, but I find that getting to the end brings a sense of accomplishment that I enjoy. I would imagine mythic raiders feel similarly, but I can’t speak for them.

As for the dichotomy between casuals/elitists, what is getting rid of mythic raiding gonna do about that? PvE has raiding and mythics, both have their elitists, so do we put a cap on keys too?

I’m not sure you actually do.

Im jelous of Mythic raiders

Its alot of fun, challenging content is enjoyable. Give me any 100-300 pull boss anytime. Its learning and progressing as a group of players all with a single goal (beat the boss) and when it all comes togther for that kill, its exciting!

I dabble here and there (sub as healer for a friends guild when they need it) but I usually dont have time at this moment in my life. I would love to get back into it though!!

Dont remove Mythic, instead wish those player luck in thier drops!! Hope your next pull is a new record!!

This sounds like another loot rant.

Halondrus bombs, Anduin upstairs adds, Healing Azeroth on Jailer, smolderon orbs, yeah, there are some fights where that would just be a bad idea.

More focus on other content. Switch raiding to be raiding+

yeah hahaha so funny hahaaha he cited the statistic that almost everyone estimating the playerbase agrees on

The argument for why M+ has not taken away raiding is probably for nostalgia. Raids have been a part of most MMOs, and it’s a part of the experience.

It all started with DnD and progressed into video games.
