Blizzard should implement a PvP-keybind-template. /tar arena 123 and /focus arena123 should be standard.
You allow yourself so much additional command of your toolkit when navigating each Arena match when using /tar arena , /focus arena, and as a utility or healer spec, f1-f3 to select party members. (Also Blizzard should make it so that the order of your party frames does not change from match to match, this can be corrected with an addon!)
It’s actually really disappointing and disheartening to think of how many players who have Arena’d as long as I have ( since s1 of BC), are probably still practicing bad habits and clicking or tabbing to navigate arena matches.
I frequently encounter players that are queueing at 2k+ ratings that also do not utilize these keybinds, and that is very disheartening to know that it is something that is very probably contributing to losses.
It’s a waste of mental resources to worry about clicking anything aside from totems and enemy pets in an arena match.
TL;DR: I really think that Blizzard would be putting new players and older players in a better position for self-sustaining self-improvement, in their practices as competitive Arena-enthusiasts.
My /tar arena1, /tar arena2, /tar arena3 are bound to Shift-1, Shift-2, and Shift-3.
My /focus arena1, /focus arena2, /focus arena3, are bound to Alt-Q, Alt-W, and Alt-E.
I like the idea but focus 12345678910/arena 123456789101112 over complicate things for some classes/players
If someone’s new to wow/pvp I can’t think of a better deterrent, despite how pruned/bare action bars are compared to a few expansions ago there’s still a steep learning curve
I’ve never used them but I also have never had a swift raza rgb vibrating solar powered mouse, I’ve just got some old $10 one and I use my Mac keyboard
hm hm, I’ll keep that in mind! r, t, g, could be good for /tar arena, and then i might steal z,x,c for /focus
On that note…
specific @tar macros are fastest also and probably are the most competitive option, like /cast [target=arena1] Fear, since they require only 1 action, instead of 2 actions ( pressing your target selection, and pressing your ability),
but I really don’t like them because they are less modular between classes ( if you main multiple classes; I main 1 primarily and 1 secondarily currently), and for whatever reason it doesn’t seem as smooth to me with the additional keybinds required.
I mean it is an option in keybinding interface already, but if you’re suggesting to just have some baseline binds set to it that’s fine as long as people can still change them to whatever they want
I will always be a unit frame clicker, I dont have enough room for 6 dedicated targeting binds.
15 binds that i can comfortably press is enough of a struggle, idk maybe my hands are just too small
