Blizzard should have released properly tuned raids

And there you go assuming again, when you havent the foggiest

No, i’m a person who actually works in the industry and knows from experience.

And you are exactly??
Aside from possibly the universe’s largest source of negative energy.

And i now return you to your personal delusion, enjoy.

omg your so gullible lol.
Literal puppet.

So basically when they said they lost it, what they really should of said was “we could find it, but we don’t really want to”.

Do the math, 15 years of repeatedly denying a copy of vanilla exists, to magically finding it again when their hand is forced by upper management to protect the ip from private servers pirates.

If you still believe the lies blizzard make up so they can do things the way they want well all I have to say to you is the earth is flat and the moon is made of cheese.

I like how you ignored the more important part of my post because you didn’t have a reply.

Can’t argue with a literal conspiracy theorist, have a great day!

Lol, good luck with this one Gythriel (if you come back). This guy has never met a software developer in his life and has no idea what development was like in 2005.

I’m amazed someone so hateful of Blizzard maintains a sub. Your the type who wouldn’t believe anything Blizzard says even if given evidence.

Feel free to educate yourself with the video below. They DO have the code, but they don’t have the assets or DB backups that have a ton of the data (which is what was said in the first place). This will genuinely be my last reply to you, only want to post this in case anyone else is curious about the process.

Repeating things that aren’t true doesn’t make them true.

Unless you can point out the nerfs in the patch notes?

oh… you can’t?

because there were none?

Just try to live with the reality that these things were never hard, but instead that people were dumb back then.

Its Classic. It is what it is. It’s not what it isn’t.

Don’t like it?

Leave.

Its OK for the game to not be for you.

Lolwut? There are literally HUNDREDS of games that can’t be recreated or updated because their source code is gone.

Not just Blizzard - EA, Activision, Atari (when they were a publisher), Bioware, you name it.

NWN Enhanced almost didn’t happen because Bioware didn’t have the source code anywhere. An external developer who worked on Hordes of the Underdark just HAPPENED to have a source code DVD lying around.

They COULDNT update Icewind Dale 2 to an Enhanced Edition because there is no source code for the game.

… lulz.

You’re aware that even companies like Microsoft and Apple and Google do, eventually, get rid of old stuff. Right?

No, i believe that like any ongoing software project, there was absolutely no reason to keep old versions lying around just for shiggles.

And, like someone else already tried to point out to you… the code wasn’t the issue. It was the databases.

This comment makes no sense.

Who is doing this content day one? It’s the pserver guilds that have been running this for over a decade.

If they’ve been doing this for a decade, they clearly aren’t getting bored with it.

Vanilla has never been challenging- it’s a grind. There is one challenge, getting together 40 players and making them listen for a few hours- but that’s a challenge on the shoulders of a GM and a few officers, and it’s not one that many people find enjoyable.

Otherwise- the mechanics and execution in Vanilla was always simple for most of the fights.

Even look at the ‘tough’ bosses of BWL. Vael- stand in one place, run away if you’re the bomb. Firemaw- stand in one place until you’re at x stacks, then move slightly to the right until the stacks fall off. Chrommagus- debuff things, resto pot if you get 3-4 debuffs, move slightly to the left when he’s about to breathe.

For 90% of players that’s the entire strategy for some of the ‘hard’ bosses, and the mechanics didn’t change. Sure, a hunter has to add a tranq shot to that, and the tank needs to do more- but for the most part that’s Vanilla boss fights.

Does that really sound hard? Sure there’s a few that are more complicated like C’thun, but they’re the exception not the norm.

Did you know that before patch 1.9, bosses could have their resistances put into the negatives? Did you know that everyone who claims that 1.12 is super nerfed conveniently omits all the changes that Blizzard made that nerfed players?

And again, you prove that you know absolutely nothing, or you’d have never made that comment, ever

retail raids are way harder than classic. Classic is the easy mode in everything. From 1 button rotations, no procs to weave in. Low movement fights, few real hard mechanics. So duh you are the one playing easy mode.

Your opinion is not an accurate reflection of reality.

Listen carefully please, you and all the others crying for the game to be re-tuned…

Pservers were tuned (incorrectly some would say) to be HARDER than what we currently have in Classic, and guess what! They PUGGED Naxx and cleared it with zero effort.

The PLAYERBASE far outskill this 15 year old game. This is not a sandbox for you to change things willy nilly, this game is supposed to be brought to you AS IS like it or not. Go to retail if you want a challenge and if it isn’t challenging enough for you, then find a new game. Leave Classic alone. Probably the only change that should be made is 1.5 AV and that’s it, but even that is not true to the 1.12 patch which is what Classic is (unfortunately) based off of.

You want a challenge? Stop going in with full consumes and take off BiS. Go in with half the people, take some meme specs. Pick talents you think sound fun rather than what is best for min/max. Enjoy this museum piece for what it is and wait for the next one to come along (TBC).

A very very dark part of me, wants them to put the broken version of C-thun in just for a week, you know for Science!.
Also we better get some good stories of people wiping the raid because they don’t know how his eye lazer works.

Raids are fine as is. Vanilla raiding was never hard.

That’s not really true. Ask ghostcrawler how cata heroics worked out. He had the same mindset with raids and dungeons. If you made it hard players will rise to the challenge, better themselves, and clear content. Cata proved that players don’t rise to the challenge, they quit. And then heroics were nerfed literally the day after GC came out and said “Heroics are hard, deal with it”.

Some challenge is good, but progression needs to be attainable for the average player with some effort. That being said MC/ony and BWL are a bit too easy. Top guilds who have been doing this for years will still clear AQ and Naxx day one, but for the average guild not full of sweaty tryhard PServer players it’ll take a few weeks. There’s still a good number of guilds that can’t kill Vael or Firemaw.

I hit that in raids currently without the negative shadow resist. Just gottta have shadow power and arcane elix. ive crit max i think like 2400 without those buffs and without dragonslayer. i think they took that negative resist out and just upped damage to cover the loss

The screenshot I linked was a hit, not a crit.

i hit high without crits. some of my noncrits are 1700+. that isnt that bad of a difference. i have normal hits at 1000 up to 1800 max then it gets into some crits that can go up to 2400 so far. going to see how high i can get it fully potted.
