Blizzard should combine servers

It’s time. I think at this point 5-6 realms would be good.

A complete name wipe every one chooses a new name before logging in.

Hopefully Microsoft will get this done. There is no reason for all the servers. 95% of them are dead.

How can 95% be dead? There aren’t even 20 classic servers.

(Admittedly when I broke down and got the promo drake I only saw one other player during my whole evening in classic, but I’m sure there are still a few out there somewhere for you)

( joking aside, I don’t want to rename my characters )

Dead servers are already combined like 6 servers together of other servers lol

And they are still dead.

Yea and , cant force people to play on dead servers

No thanks, make a mega realm and let people transfer to it for free :+1:

This 100% won’t go over well

You know I’d be impressed if any company were stupid enough to force name changes on their entire community

I have 8 can we remove two then.

Completely agreed. It’s not just about some dead servers, but honestly at this point there should be only servers split by location (east, central, west). And it’s not just about dead servers but servers where alliance or horde represents 99% of the population that should mix.

It’s like what they did on Guild Wars 2, initially there was a reason for having different servers but as time moved on they simply got all servers together except for one specific kind of world content.

I think it would be great for population in general if it worked like GW2.

Now this probably would have a big impact in the economy of all the servers, if that impact is positive or negative I wouldn’t know. What’s certain is that many people would complain. Wow players complain about everything.

I wouldn’t say 95% of them are dead but I do agree on they should do server merges. i wouldn’t count on it though. They literally show realms as high/full pop realms when they empty af.

You can’t believe a thing that comes out of their mouth until they actually prove it.

It’s not.

Connected Realms exist. We just need more of those.

I much prefer full realms to play, but dead realms have their place in my playing. I can go to Pandaria and the Sha and Galleon are just standing there, waiting on me to kill them. Same with the warbringers.

I went to Sholazar and got King Krush and Loque’nalak within two days of each other. My hunter was so happy! I have one Loque on my full servers, and I have been playing since 2008. I had never even seen King before till I got him.

I would not want to play on a dead realm all the time, but it does have its perks.

That’s a really good way to lose all of their customers.

They have server connections so they don’t have to close and merge anything.

100%. More connections will do the trick better than destroying servers.

Also keep in mind: The more servers there are, the more instances of each name that can exist. So it’s better than we DON’T close them if only for that reason.

Of the 240 NA/Oceanic servers 120 are listed as full or high population.

I think you need to recheck your math

That speaks volumes for the individuals who are on empty realms.

Lol.

This is not real btw.

Next time the realms come back online from maintenance watch the realm list. The minute they come online they show the same population they have for years.

can connect with other people on connected realms.

Do you not understand how that works?

Also: If you are on a realm you consider “dead”, maybe you should petition Blizz to connect you with some servers that aren’t?

Keep in mind if you are using NOW as your metric, you’re doing it wrong, because a lot of people are taking a break until the next expansion launches.

Yes. I’m pretty sure most people realize that is the overall population and not the current population.

I understand exactly how it works. It doesn’t discredit the amount of people who post here on a monthly basis about a dead realm they’re on.

Not everything used to be instanced lobbies, and I hope wow doesn’t go further into that. That’s mobile market for you.
