Achievements should show accomplishments earned from playing the game not how much money you’ve spent.

you assume mounts are just a number, with no other purpose than to make your total number bigger
I think even you understand that attractive mounts serve other purposes as well
So there is absolutely no contradiction between buying (or in my case, being gifted) pretty mounts to enhance your in-game character while simultaneously thinking that achievements should not be pay-to-win
(I think it’s pretty pathetic to throw hundreds or in your case maybe even over €1000 money ON TOP of a sub for pixels but I guess I’m just more down-to-earth than most nerds here)

This makes no sense. Nothing in this game is “pay-to-win.” You don’t need shop mounts to “win” the mount collecting achievement.
Oh all my store mounts were “gifted.”
p.s. I didn’t miss the fact you ignored the Asmondgold question. That argument kind of/not really works for the boosting thing but not for store mounts. He even said as much.

but a dear friend of mine bought me the Starseeker because she knows I adore it, the others are gifts from my recurring sub (which is easy enough to double check)
I mean it’s the only way you can derive the conclusion that possessing store mounts and being against P2W is any shade of hypocritical
except it is, when the new tier of mount achievements is released and you can only miss a few legit mounts for that total, it’s a lot easier to (like in your case) just throw a bunch of money at blizz for well over 50 mounts instead of grinding the ultra rare panda boss mounts for example
then there is no need to take offense but yeah you don’t strike me as someone to make rational financial decisions

Right, right and this friend also “gifted” you the Shadowlands Collector’s edition.
I don’t need store mounts because Blizzard isn’t going to suddenly make the achievement only obtainable by buying the ones from the store. How do I know this? History.
I have 552 mounts. If I subtract all the mounts I was “gifted” then I still have 511 mounts. So I’m 111 mounts above the highest achievement. The next time Blizzard adds an achievement, it’s more likely than not going to be 450 and 500 so then I’m still 11 above that.
And I haven’t even seriously started on the SLs mounts, I’m still missing a lot BfA mounts, and I have zero of the saddles from pvp. If you want to take it even further than that and subtract the TCG mounts even though I bought all but 2 (bear and raptor) from the AH, I would still have close to 500 mounts.
So this whole “P2W” argument about the store mounts is

No, it wasn’t an insult. I asked you because your stance is almost word-for-word his stance on buying the boost. He’s against it but he’s going to do it anyways.
p.s. Don’t worry about my “financial decisions.” I have enough disposable income that I can still pay all my bills, put my kid through college and have money left over to buy stupid crap like beer, a boat, horses and digital junk. Don’t get all spicy with me because you don’t have that option.
why are store mounts any concern to anyone about anything? There are over 650 obtainable mounts in game and people are pressed about 18? That’s less than half a percent.
Seriously, chill out.
