Blizzard shop crashes

I am attempting to purchase a Race Change through the in-game shop. I can get as far as selecting my realm and character, then I click Continue, and the app crashes with an error message: BlizzardBrowser.exe - Application Error “The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x3f4b9bfa”

The game itself runs fine, it’s just the shop that crashes.

I have tried searching online without luck and I did a chat with a support rep; he wanted me to uninstall my VPN (which I use for work), VMware (which contain various virutal machines), and anything to do with Razer (my current mouse).

Has anyone experienced a similar issue and how were you able to resolve?

Hey there,

Since the most recent patch I’ve been seeing the Razer apps cause the shop to crash for whatever reason. Would it be okay to temporarily uninstall it as a test? All of your settings should save to Razer’s cloud. If this does not work please feel free to reinstall it.

This is the solution. I had to kill my Razer app process then the shop loaded for me.

Old thread but confirming with a bump. Closing Razer fixes this error. (Windows 7 here.)
