Blizzard scammed me of almost 5k!

All the tears of people who list one at a time...

Yes...

It sustains me.

SUFFERRR
It's not a scam. Buy a friggin dictionary.
not scammed. they purposely did it to stop people from listing 10 pages of 1 ore or 1 herb.

they also should have put a limit on the number of items you can AH at anytime.
So why are your deposit prices so much lower than mine? If it's true that you're being charged a lower price then there's a bug or the system is broken. Either way, I'm out a lot of gold, and I'm entitled to complain about it.

I read that they were increasing the deposits costs to help deter spam, but raising the deposit to 800 gold for Whiptail and up to 1,000 gold for Stormvine is broken.

No matter how you swing it--that's broken. That's not discouraging single-listings--that's outright making it prohibitively expensive to even sell any whiptail or stormvine

The price being at 800-1,000 gold does not sound like an intended change, but rather someone screwing up royally. And their screw-up is costing people thousands of gold.

Under no circumstance should a stack of Cata herbs cost nearly a thousand gold to list. It's broken, and I'm pissed I lost money on it.

So you admit that not only did Blizzard notify the player base, contradicting your earlier claim, but you read the notification they released and still have the the nerve to blame Blizzard for your mistakes?

and I'm entitled...
Baby Boomer eh?

You're entitled to complain about things that affect you to. No one should just sit back and take injustice.

If the system is charging me a difference price than others--then it's broken or a bug, and that information should be voiced. If Blizzard could cancel my listing and I get my money back I guess I'd shut up about it. But I paid the price, so I'm entitled to the ride.

I said I knew that Blizzard mentioned a 'slight' increase in the deposit of items. No where did they mentioned they'd jack things up from 1 silver to 1,000 gold. An unreasonable price-hike of that magnitude should have been advertised to the player-base.

It's deceptive and scammy of them to advertise reasonable price hikes, and then apply reasonable price hikes to all items with the exception of Cata herbs. It's like they purposely left a land-mine in there to screw people over and scam them out of their money.
Hallelujah. Deincentivizing sellers from posting single items reduces the chance I’ll have to weed through 20 pages of a single herb. I’d also have just been happy if they updated the user interface to completely ignore single items that can stack.

i have to disagree. it was a change made a while ago, and not knowing something doesnt mean they stole from you or are charging someone a different amount. they arent saying oh nausprime pays this but everyone else pays that.
it is a formula. if you chose to bulk list using addon or didnt pay attention to the price. its not their fault you didnt know.

Why does the item Whiptail Stem cost 800 gold deposit to list on the auction house? I just posted 5 of these with TSM, and didn't notice until I was out nearly 5k and has to figure out what the heck is going on.

Is this a bug, or is Blizzard just trying to scam me for my gold?

Someone else in the thread mentioned that they were able to list the same item for a fraction of the price. That's why I accused Blizzard of having players pay difference prices. It's possible that that player lied about the cost for him to list stuff, but I just took his word at face value. I posted a screenshot of my deposit cost, and I'll do it again.

Deposit costs scales with the price you set the item.

I'll ask this again.

WHY THE HECK ARE YOU TRYING TO SELL OLD MATS FOR 4K GOLD EACH!? NO WONDER YOUR DEPOSITS ARE SO HIGH!

They didn't randomly jack it up, they informed us months ago about the change. You just haven't been playing attention, not their fault..

Blizzard said they'd increase the prices a bit. Not jack them up to 1,000 gold per item. Why doesn't MoP herbs list for 1,000 gold per item? Why are Cata herbs unreasonably high?

Eh...

You're not getting it.

For each auction you pay 20% of the posting price of a single item. Whether you post 1 item or 200 items

If you post 200 auctions of 1 item you pay this 200 times.

If you post 1 auction of 200 items you pay this once.

The real question is why you're posing...

one herb for 4000g.

You don't understand, 1,000 gold deposit makes even large stacks of Cata herbs unreasonable.

Well if your auction sells, you get the deposit fee back. You should be getting the sell amount - AH cut + deposit mailed to you upon selling something. You lose the deposit if the item doesn't sell. If you are frequently not selling your auctions, you are either being undercut, selling for too much or selling somethign with little demand and should find something else.

I'm still going to tell you, that paying 800-1,000 gold to list even a stack of 200 Cata herbs is broken. I'm not asking you to say I should get my gold back and that Blizzard scammed me, but can you at least agree that EVEN listing 200 cata herbs should not cost upwards of a grand?

It doesn't even cost that much to list a stack of 200 BFA herbs, so why are you ok with Cata herbs being all jacked up?
Sooner or later you’re gonna have to be an adult and realize you made a mistake and move on.

Again...

If you got an 800g deposit then your price per item is 4000g. If you're posting a stack of 200 of them then your auction price is 800,000g.

When did deposit costs start scaling with the listing price? I don't remember that ever being part of the auction house.
