I’ve seen a ton of healers get people killed over their decisions and left because they messed up.
At no point do I imply we bullied anyone, just stop talking, you’re embarassing yourself. Did I humiliate you in another thread or something? Didn’t know I had fans.
The healers that complain about people expecting them to dps better hope Blizzard doesn’t start designing encounters so you always need to be healing or the healing requirement will be so high they’ll never get invited to groups.
Yeah but you dont always have to heal so overhealing would be a thing and everyone would be topped up 100% of the time. Giving them buff spells would contribute to the overall damage, while not contributing to the healing but still feel like its part of a caster class.
I usually join PuG group with the keyholder with LOL Mythic Rating and LOL ilevel. It’s built in on my mind that I have to perform or this would fail. And if it really failed, who would I blame? Not the healer… not the keyholder. More likely… it would be me.
Yeah but that was what was being addressed, no? If you’re healing and not wanting to deal damage, then by making your heals do some damage that ends up letting those who want to solely heal heal while also helping them to contribute damage since part of those heals, even overheals, ends up becoming damage.
That would be fine, too, and I wouldn’t mind both to be honest.
Then you are playing with the wrong resto druids. I genuinely cannot remember the last time I had mana issues in keys on my druid. Monks are one of the most mana intensive healers if you have to start breaking out the vivifies. Disc priest can have mana issues as you start needing to rely on radiance more.
Resto shamans and evokers both won’t have mana issues provided your group doesn’t spread out to all corners of the planet but can start to have mana issues if their group does.
Holy priests and holy paladins may as well not have a mana bar for how little they usually spend in keys.
I want to post this to try and help you improve. This is transferrable across not only games, but life as a whole. You have the gist right; there is no point in blaming others for a loss, and you can only control what you can do.
Here’s the problem, though. In a group effort scenario, it is pointless to blame yourself when there’s nothing you can do. There are failures in life that you just have to accept. There are many things you can learn from these experiences, and in WoW it is much more than just “I didn’t do enough damage.”
It’s fine to learn that you should communicate better, that you should be more careful who you take or who you join. And it’s also fine to just realize that a key was bricked and there just wasn’t anything you could do about it.
You aren’t a god among men. You aren’t able to right every wrong, and you’re not god’s gift to M+ either.
The argument that tanks are healing is also incredibly silly. I have talents that increase my viability that make my bleeds heal me. I am not targeting anyone but the mobs I would normally target and I am not casting healing spells or abilities. I am doing damage and doing a fair amount of healing simply by doing that damage.
If healers were doing damage passively from talents this would not be a conversation. And yet a bunch of DPS and tanks in this thread are pretending like they are doing the same thing they are asking of healers - splitting focus and managing two roles at once. You’re not.
So they are the top groups but not really because they can’t get to the top leaderboards… so they aren’t actually the top groups?
No damage is negligible and specs like resto druid are pulling 10k+ overall right now.
Could argue that “choking” the tank for DPS could lead to them dying more often, which would wipe the group.
Source? I’ve never observed this.
This is untrue. It’s true that many top healers gear for damage, but that doesn’t mean the damage is passive. Some trinkets do considerable damage, which I guess you could consider, but the resto druid catweaving and priest spreading SWP and casting holy fire off cooldown is proactively doing damage, it’s not their gear.
Lmao at the idea that throwing out an occasional cyclone or soothe is the same as having to manage healing and DPS at the same time. And on my tank I have no healing spells.
