Blizzard REALLY needs to reconsider transmogging for Dracthyr

The fact that as it stands I can NEVER be a cool dragon in cool armor severely disappoints me

Dragon form might not but I have no plans to use that form ever. Sticking with the humanoid form.

Speaking of which, what are your shoots for dracthyr weapons?

I say everything that a shaman can equip + spears

EDIT: Spears instead of staves

Well like me with my worgen. I have no clue what the human form looks like because I made it back when it first came out and have never left worgen form with it ever. Because I am a worgen and not a human on that toon.

I’m the exact opposite, I have no plans on using Visage form ever so I’d like the MAIN form of the race to actually have transmog beyond tabards

I’ll main Draconic Form. I am a roleplayer as well. I hope they have a good lore explanation for two forms of the reptiles. I am also wondering if there will be a boom of Dracthyr guilds (roleplay) until Dragonflight ends? Like it happened to Worgens, Pandas…

To be fair Worgen is an interesting situation. It’s not a genetically viable race - the CDevs have already clarified that offspring of Worgen are Gilnean Human with no impact from the Worgen curse.

Which is a strong argument that Worgen are not only Human, but the Worgen itself isn’t even a true “species.”

I think getting every piece of mail armor in the game to work on that rig would be an impossible task. Hence, no transmog. There’s human form I think though?

I mean I can understand no capes, boots, helms, or gloves but everything else really just doesn’t make sense to me when Worgen are visually similar and have more options

More then likely I think to have to go through every single mail chest, legs, shoulders, belts and wrists if that one to make it work would have been a massive undertaking considering how many transmog there is, making sure there is no weird clipping, etc.

Sounds like they went the druid route. Who knows maybe it’s something that just won’t beat the start but as time goes on they’ll add it.

The humanoid form is trash to me. They stuck new heads onto old body models that don’t even make any sense.

They need to make unique body models. Smashing together the DNA of Trolls, Nelfs, Tauren and primitive Humans doesn’t give us current Human and Belf models.

It’s ridiculous to me that a brand new race with its own starter zone doesn’t have a unique model. This is even worse than AR to me.

The first time blizzard has made a race that doesn’t copy and paste the structural archetype of another race and they’re cutting corners on what pieces of armor they can t mog?

Love these no heart half measures.

It’s just Worgen all over again. They even use the Worgen rig. And they never even changed the Belf and Human models at all, except for new heads.

KT got a brand new rig AND model, but they couldn’t be bothered to make even a slightly unique model or rig for this new race.

It’s pretty half-arsed, indeed.

lol Jesus so it’s not even brand new then

Brand new levels of lazy and inept

Friendly reminder Drakonids are seen in the game wearing armor. The other dragon variant on four legs also wears armor. Not sure why Dracthyr can’t wear any.

Don’t drink the koolaid….

The Dracthyr “barber shop” armor cosmetics is lazy/cheap game design. It costs time and money to develop playable races with all the armor. By limiting Dracthyr to only a small subset of armor, and only 1 armor type, you massively reduce the amount of work you have to do to introduce them into the game.

My hope (and to be honest… it’s not all that likely) is that Dragonflight had to be bumped up to fill the content gap that Shadowlands had, and that the Dracthyr just weren’t finished.

But more likely, as with DH and the 2 spec issue, this is the new reality from Blizz around game design. Less content, more cost. I paid more for this expansion than Myst of Pandaria… and we are being delivered far less content. Less zones, Less developed Race, Less developed class.
