Blizzard really likes hammering the fact Garrosh could have been a good guy

So we now have the Maghar questline plus this new Hearthstone skin stating Garrosh could have been “a protector of the peace/advocate for peace” and instead we got MU Garrosh.

Well yeah. It’s why the specifically have him as Nagrand Garrosh.

You can’t rewrite history.

Unless your Blizzard devs of course.

Majority of garrosh army in SoO consists of green orcs (regular orcs that were in horde from the beginning, ones that followed Thrall), not maghar. He was a good guy for them

Could have been, but he was a horrible racists ***hole. Thanks for the reminder though, I gotta beat him up for some shoulder pieces later.

It’s because he could have been. He had good role models and those who would have supported him.

Instead he clung to old hatreds and fear of losing what had been. He could have embraced taking what was best from all the member races of the Horde and creating a truly stunning civilization and instead shattered the basis for that very civilization and then war mongering for personal power and glory.

Perhaps, a Thrall himself seems to believe, Thrall did fail him. If this is true he did so by believing the greatness that was within in Garrosh would overcome the hate and fear that was also there.

Technically speaking every evil person, “Could’ve” been a good guy. Sargeras, Gul’dan, Archimonde, Arthas, the list goes on. All of them ‘could’ve’ been good. Coulda woulda shoulda is a phrase that exists for a reason.

Or Ubisoft. Can’t kill too many peasants in the new viking assassin’s creed without getting a game over.

Why would you buy any recent Ubisoft games in the first place? I haven’t bought a game from them since Far Cry 3. They just release garbage nowadays.

They scratch a historical fiction itch that I didn’t know I had.

Can’t say the same my Dwarf friend.

The issue is that instead of character development, they turn horde leaders into monsters.

What!?

Bad enough I couldn’t play as a servant of the Dark Gods.

Talk about a deal breaker.

I would be happy if he was a good guy. Come on, anything is better than fighting him again, and a reunion between Thrall and Garrosh could restore Thrall’s confidence and courage. Garrosh could let go of the pride and be the good guy he should have been.

At least he’s tortured for redemption, Sylvanas not.

garrosh did nothing wrong
yep i said it again
theramore was a legitimate military target

It was!
The Alliance came to Kalimdor through Theramore and Garrosh realized this late and also destroyed it. It didn’t have to be a bomb, but it was justified.

That’s one of the reasons Garrosh got a lot of hatred that I don’t understand, but I don’t think nobody knew this was a military base and they were just innocent and because Jaina was there even though it was their own fault.

Just as nobody pays attention to this in the small print, so it was.

Say it louder for the boys in the back. A farking men to that. People need to stop hating on my dude. Thrall ruined him. I can’t stand Thrall.

Agreed. It’s kinda nuts that blizzard bent over backwards to defend the Alliance massacring a civillian town, then tries to make bombing theramore into a horrible atrocity.

Theramore was directly responsible for mass civilian death in the Barrens both during and before Cata. There was also ample time given to evacuate.

I just did the Mag’har unlock questline, and the Bronze dragon specifically says that in most possible timelines Garrosh was a hero. The version we got in our timeline was one of the worst possible incarnations of him.

I’m interested to see if Blizzard does anything with the Lightforged Garrosh who is working with Yrel in AU Draenor.
