Blizzard: "Premium Content." What Do You Mean?

Hi, title.

Blizzard: “Premium Content.” What do you mean by this statement?

Do you mean quality content?

Do you mean paid for content?

Do you mean both quality AND paid for content?

Because if you intend to only put quality content for WoW behind a paywall?

Yer gonna kill WoW. Actually DO it.

Please advise?

Are we really trying to make a thing out of this? Out of one word?

No, Blizzard is not going to put content behind a paywall beyond of course what they already do, meaning expansion packs and store items.

Why do people continue to make stupid takes?

You do realize that in the gaming industry, the phrase premium content, quite literally means, the customer must pay to gain access?

We have no context.

Also, they imply already existing premium content.

By all means, where is it?

I think it a bit early to light torches and grab the pitchforks…

You’d have to ask the people that wrote the thing you are flipping out about a year ago regarding Q4 of 2020. Dunno why you are flipping out about it now though, considering the most recent investor call said nothing about this.

Yeah, that’s every past expansion…

That’s the ‘premium’ content they’ve made, and will continue to make.

If you’re worried that WoW will suddenly start putting dungeons, raids, zones and other core pieces of gameplay behind paywalls, don’t, that’s not going to happen.

The only way that could feasibly happen is if WoW went F2P and copied the ESO model, which is extremely unlikely.

Are you serious?

Is this just a big troll then?

literally the game itself.

you have to pay a sub to access it, it is premium content.

it’s ok to know where your pitchforks and torches are in case of emergency, but you probably shouldn’t get them out until we actually know details.

Hmmmm. In marketing, premiums are promotional items — toys, collectables, souvenirs and household products — that are linked to a product. What would the forum be without speculation?

Imho, all of it Plus you pay more for it ,plus mobile.

Potentially a troll, or just someone misinformed.

Turgin? Yeah, this is normal. He’s constantly making threads like this finding cosmic far reaching reasons to complain about Blizz or WoW.

The literal meaning of the word “premium” in an advertising context is that the customer pays extra for something that is supposed to be special.

Hogwash!

It’s never too early!

Which reminds me: hey folks, selling pitchforks and torches here, 15g each, or buy the set for only 25g, which is a 5g discount!

Act now while supplies last! You don’t want to be the only one at the uprising without a pitchfork or a torch, so buy now!

/moo :cow:

Oof premium…takes me back to my BF3 and 4 days with EA.

Want that dungeon? too bad get premium. Want to fly…too bad.
