Do you know why they wore codpieces?

Its because of syphilis. They used to treat it with a cream made from mercury and the codpiece held the bandages in place some the cream would stay on. It also helped absorb the puss that would drip, and provide some cushioning during a “sensitive” time.

It wasn’t until later that it became a fashion statement, as it had also become a symbol of virality.

So you saying you want a codpiece is you saying I want an STD.
