Blizzard Please

fix the fact that I will have to delete my entire house (which I’ve spent about a month on) because I can’t swap/change the first room.

I did the same thing

So much this! We can move a room, but there has to be an open spot to move a room that size to. They should make it where we can “save” a room then add back saved room and we should be able to insert a room between rooms if we want.

I’ve blown up my house like 5 or 6 times. Gone through at least 3 different “themes” before I settled on my bar.

I actually got my second house to work on floor plans and experiment with .. well.. floor plans.

The bar stays until A. I can template the rooms. B. I get my Pandaria Apron, so I can stand at the grill with my shirtless Kul Tarin smirking at the idea you’re largest concern in my bar is some chest hair making it’s way into your food.

Meanwhile, allow me to top off that Poisoned beer. We make it right here on site. The Beer? The Poison? Both!

Fortunately I had the foresight to make my entry room a small room that serves just an intersection to attach wings onto.

Unfortunately I’ll probably eventually want to swap it for an open courtyard at some point once everything unlocks.

I suppose I could still do a passage into a courtyard … or maybe I’ll just leave the whole idea on the drawing board for now and just focus on the house as it is? It’s not like my home is anything dramatically complicated, but I’d rather not blow it up.

There should be a design template that even uncollected decor can be added as an outline until it’s owned.

Yea I just put the biggest room I had without realizing later that there’s another ;<

My first room in my alliance home is a pretty basic open stairwell. To the left I have a poorly made spiral staircase going up to the second level that branches off to two bedrooms. Beyond the staircase is an indoor garden section. To the right of the main door is a doorway to a small library. Straight ahead is a common room, fireplace, tables, sofas etc and to the left of that is my large kitchen with lots of things place. My library(with a small hidden room for sneaky books) and my kitchen are the rooms I’ve done the most in, knowing I’d probably destroy and remake it all someday.

All that to say I’m probably just goofing around until I can use the day/night rooms and that I fully expect to want to remake my entire home BUT I would love to be able to disconnect rooms and place them off to the side to change/remove rooms they are attached to, including the main room without having to remove all of them. I have to believe they know this by now and are working on a way to make it so we don’t have to destroy attached rooms to make changes to others. Time will tell…

Man, I must be cut from different cloth. I just don’t see the issue. Its a game, part of the fun of decorating is…well decorating.

I had to rebuild my house to change the primary room, so I just rebuilt the house. I just removed all the decor, deleted the rooms, placed new rooms and redid the decor. No issues, no problems. Easy peasy.

To be quite frank, the only thing housing has going for it right now is decorating. Not sure why so many want to skip this step if they decide to change things around.

I have literally no idea how you can’t possibly understand why people don’t want the things that they’ve spent dozens of hours on making in a creative medium being literally destroyed because of an incredibly simple design flaw. If we wanted to make it again we’d delete it

Ohh I understand that they want it, but I don’t see the issue as they can rebuild it again.

I have done it time and time again, and sure its not excactly like the first one, but in most cases often turns out better as I have learned new tricks and gathered new furnishing items along the way.

Can you tell me please, which other MMORPG that has housing allows you to make “blueprints” of your home so you can swap them in and out easily?

I’m not asking for blueprints, I’m asking for the ability to not delete my entire house because I can’t change the first room

Sorry, many are.

Gotcha.

Ya, I must be cut from different cloth as instead of complaining about the problem, I just dove in and solved it as it was something within my power to change. I am not trying to invalidate your experience and you have a right to complain and I am not trying to invalidate that either. But this is a scenario where you do have the agency to solve the issue you created.

When this happend to me and I just scapped the house and started from scratch. This time being more cognisant about my plans going forward to ensure the room size I chose was going to be appropriate. I imagine you will do the same, meaning this is not really an issue as you learnd how the system works, it sucked that one time sure, but you wont make the same mistake.

I see this two ways, both of them have merit but they can not co-exist together.

  1. Blizzrd wants engagment. Rebuilding your house means you are engaging.
  2. Players do not want to rebuild their entire home becasue they want to change the room size.

Both valid and fair points, but to Blizzards credit, even though the system does not work the way you’d like it to, you do have the power to make the changes nonetheless.

I am genuinely baffled. lmao

you should be a GM

All I am saying is that I get it, but its not game breaking as you can solve the issue in game yourself.

It takes time, sure and youd probably rather be doing something else with that time, but its still a solvable problem, it just takes the extra effort.

As a side note. Personally I take these kinds of things as challenges, not negative experiences. I think of it this way “well, if I am going to redo this, lets see if I can make it better than before”, and youd be surprised how often you complete the task the second go around and are much more pleased with the outcome.

Its one of those things you have to find the silver lining, make lemonade out of lemons.

I think you template structures in Dune.

Its not really an mmorpg. It has some features of an mmo, but its not an mmo perse.

Yes need options for sure!!!
