Blizzard please take away the addons asap

I saw it in the interview that it won’t be in the next couple patches, but please expedite the process. This is a crucial change that needs to happen sooner rather than later.

The sooner the better but big changes like these are likely gonna have some adjustments along the way especially considering how much it’s riling up the pvemans. :dracthyr_a1:

What would they even be complaining about? Do games like Elden Ring tell you what boss mechanic is coming next? Who even are these people that are complaining?

What I miss? =o

Probably PvE people losing their minds over it. Which is expected tbh. Idk I just heard about this like 15mins ago and this is the best change in a while. I imagine they’re waiting because they want to slowly pull the bandage off, but I think it’s better to just rip that sucker off.

Where can I find the interview? Not finding it for some reason. :frowning:

i mean… not ALL addons are a problem. things like Bartender, action bar UI addons, Nameplate addons those are all fine. it’s the weakauras and things in Arenas that give you extra information you shouldn’t have that are the issue.

things like gladiator LoSSA screaming all the cooldowns that are being popped into your ear.

When people refer to addons they generally aren’t referring to bartender, bagnon, tomtom, etc. It’s combat stuff, especially alerts for things like enemy cds, cc, etc.

Ye, exactly.

i healed my buddy on my resto shaman cuz he wanted to unlock the elite set for Evoker, and he is new to Arena and we were Down at lower MMR and i was seeing people do things they shouldnt be knowing to do down there.

Would you consider weak auras in the same camp?

yeah i metioned weak auras in my original comment.

Ack! Sorry, missed that.

Yay, lets make being a caster even more difficult.

Pretty sure all kicks have a sound. Like the game has in game sounds people don’t need to see an icon to know something happened, and knowing when someone has a CD back allows for gameplay that is too precise and takes away unpredictability.

An addon arm race is not something this game needs. It makes the game harder because game devs have to put people having a million addons telling them what to do into consideration when creating content.

yeah what they really should do before removing addons is make it so you can cast vampiric touch before all the melees have hit you with one ability for 80% of your health bar.

Man, I was genuinely excited and hopeful it’d be this expansion, but it sounds like it wont be until midnight

They rolled out the cd manager which, aside from its lack of customization on what it does/doesnt show, isn’t that bad.

I suspect this statement by ion is just to kick the tires and gauge public sentiment. I wouldn’t hold my breath, or even be particularly hopeful that this happens in the way it’s described

All addons? no. The ones used by PVPers and other assorted sweatlords? I don’t use combat addons so no skin off my nose.

It has never been “all addons”. It’s only ever combat/alert/log stuff.

An example is a timer when somebody uses their important 15 or 90 second cd, or a flashing icon + noise when the warlock presses havoc, or an infernal is in its falling animation/delay, etc, etc.

Has nothign to do with what boss mechanics are coming.

When you PvE you do it so much that you have a timer in your head that is subconcious, you don’t really need timers for things because you have a fundamental understanding of whats happening.

But not being able to track teammate cooldowns makes no sense. In high M+ like in arena, every cooldown matters, so overlapping proves to be a lethal mistake just like it does in arena.

If I see that we have no kicks available when i’m being triple casted on I have to meld or hope PS is enough or I die. If I can’t tell what kciks we have available, and I meld or waste PS when someone then kicks, how does that make the game better?

If I PI an arcane mage 15 seconds before Surge comes off CD, when he has zero relevant damage, instead of holding for 15 seconds for him to have relevant damage again, why is that bad? Why is me just randomly sending cooldowns with no understanding of whether or not I should be a good thing?

The most satisfying part of playing WoW is understanding the dynamic, unique situation you’re in, in combination with what buttons you have available to handle that situation. Having the awareness to identify a weak point in your team, and covering it with an ability you have available. That trading as a team is literally 99% of what makes WoW fun. Removing my ability to identify those situations removes my ability to be my job as a healer, and reverts the game in to a training dummy fest

Not to mention that it just gives people in voice a fundamental advantage again. People in voice comms get to know who has what available, but PuGs in no voice (95% of player base bTW), are just at a fundamental disadvantage? Please explain how this makes any sense.
