I respectfully request to please remove the invisible hard cap to MMR that exists right now in solo shuffle arenas. This is very clearly holding everyone back when you can look at the rating ladder or open any stream and top of the top AWC players are only 1800-2100.
This invisible hard cap to MMR at 2100 is really hindering any feel of progression. I fear if this remains it will push returning and new players completely out of the arena/game all together as the talks around are already that people are feeling beat down with this and there is no reason for it to exist. This is creating panic among players in low ratings thinking they are bad and creating negative feelings because they were for example 1600 last season but cant even get 1200 right now.
I see that blitz is already up to 2700 and everyone has been enjoying it and posting success stories and achievements that feel good. It would make most sense that we are able to do the same in arenas or any pvp setting overall as being artificially held back is not a good feeling at all.
yea it’s insane that blitz is uncapped but arena/shuffle remains capped
people are just never gonna queue arena because blitz is the most free rating i’ve ever seen in this game. literally everyone is gonna have 2.4 without even trying. rank 1 players say that’s a good thing, but it isn’t. there needs to be achievements that feel good to earn besides rank 1 / legend
i had absterge in my lobby today im 1800cr . btw absterge is an awc player lmao and im playing with him at 1800 yeah blizz doesnt frickin learn to stop deflating mmr artificially in shuffle it never ever works
the casuals that get 2400 for free in a season like this then never play again or play again and get mad that they don’t instantly get higher than they are now just quit
Is MMR actually increasing though for the very top? I stopped once I saw mine was at 2100 on the last match because it seems pointless to play if it does not increase past the current ceiling cap.
If it isn’t then you can pretty much only lose by playing. I’d rather just sit and wait for my MMR to passively go up with inflation.

This is something new, “artificially reducing mmr”, that’s cool, you made a substitution of concepts, do you work as a journalist? They artificially increased your mmr for 3-4 seasons DF, don’t confuse, don’t deceive people.
This isn’t a hardcapping of MMR, it’s exactly what people said would happen. Shuffle mmr was insanely inflated because it was insanely popular; it was a solo queue option.
More people playing = more inflation. Very basic math!
Now, however, I’d bet that the majority of solo shuffle (especially the lower end) is playing BGBlitz instead. It’s not that shuffle is “mmr capped”, it’s just not as inflated as it was because there are fewer people playing.
People should just play and enjoy it for what it is. Reward driven gameplay burns people out, they should play because they’re having fun. It’s a shame that it took me until recently to realize that.
this is just wrong. There is a cap around 2100 mmr therefore you cannot push past 2100-2200 in shuffle no matter what right now unlike blitz. Have a look around, if there was no cap the separation of the playerbase would be far greater and not a toxic ball like it is right now. Your statement holds true at the END of a season but if you play shuffles and hit this invisible hard cap you know exactly what your dealing with
Except… (And I know this is likely not the fully correct numbers, but it is about as accurate as we can curate at the moment)… According to Drustvar, we have the following info:
SOLO SHUFFLE:
112198 Shuffle Rounds played in the last 72 Hours
18700 Lobbies Played
BG BLITZ:
6348 Blitz games played in the last 72 Hours
3 times as many lobbies done as BG Blitz games. I am sure there is a group scaling component that would partially level it out… but that is an awful lot of shuffle lobbies in 3 days to have NO ONE able to hit 2400… meanwhile with 66% few completed pvp instances, we have people breaking 2700 in BG blitz. There is 100% something fishy.
