Blizzard please reconsider your stance on Zandalari Warlocks

It wasn’t the entire selling point get over yourself

yeah true. But when they actually discus it at Blizzcon. Can it still be consider a error? They actually talk about openly as a class for new race. Kind of takes wind out of argument.

There isn’t lore behind Warlocks specific to one race. Except maybe orcs.

Warlocks always have been and always will be the individuals who raise a middle finger to polite society to seek out personal power, even if it means making deals with demons in order to do it.

The idea that you need race-specific lore to justify Warlocks is silly and makes no sense. They’re not like the different Priesthoods or Paladins Orders.

Yeah that last paragraph, screw the rules lets make the Night Elves have warlocks. Are you for real? There’s a reason it took until cataclysm for them to even be allowed to be mages. Night Elves don’t trust magic as it brought the Burning Legion in the first place. Lore exists for a reason. Blizzard have made a decision not to include Zandalari warlocks, that should be the end of the discussion, maybe in a few expansions they’ll change their minds though.

“Taking up bad magic” is not all there is to it for being a warlock, it is specifically an affinity for fel magic. The Zandalari have already had enough of that sort of thing after seeing the blood trolls and G’hun, so lore-wise it makes a bit of sense to not e welcoming of 'locks.

Blizzard nerfed stance dancing long ago

The Zandalari empire is the most religious of the troll tribes. People practicing witchcraft would be executed.

There are no Zandalari Warlocks in BFA, just like there are no old gods or kulian mages in BFA.

They should absolutely be able to be warlocks, just like KT should be able to be paladins.

Yes because if you paid attention when playing in Zandalar, you’d see that they point out the ways of the Monk are beneath them and they would never fight like that.

Blizzard said it was an error and apologized. That’s all you need to know, and that closes the matter down right there. Question it if you want, but demanding that they remove another class so you can play yours is just rotten.

Zandalari appear to be a highly theocratic society much like the Draenei. Thus it does not surprise me that they are not Warlocks.

You’re joking right? Go quest in Vol’dun, there’s a Zandalari Warlock there…

The thing about warlocks in general is that there is no school for any of them. Even the Council doesn’t make/train warlocks, they seek out or are found by existing ones. Any warlock that didn’t have a household name had to hide it. You had to make yourself an exception to the usual persecution.

Warlocks become warlocks by being a weakly disciplined practitioner of another school of magic. The majority of them just became warlock on their own.

I disagree with you on that last bit, if such were the case the Eredar would not have joined Sargeras for more power in the form of the Fel.

yeah this was literally the selling point for me, kinda really very upsetting and disappointing that they would pull it last minute. they will likely do it to us all anyway. gg activision, er i mean blizzard.

Personally I love trolls, I love troll Lore… each of my characters with a handful of exceptions is a troll and follows their own Loa, I love the entire damn race.

I find most people dont know much about their Lore, but I can confirm the Zandalari do have their own form of “Warlock” similar to how they have “paladins” which is why I was so pissed when THAT wasnt as thing.

weirdly enough of all the classes the one they shouldn’t have is Rogue. The Zandalari are a proud lot and often view the backstabbing combat style of rogues as “beneath them” obviously not everyone follows the rules, but I feel for such a proud race they would frown quite heavily on such an individual and possibly execute them.

an example of this in the MoP codex’s you can find it talks about how the Zandalari prefer to use “Brute strength and Ancient magic” in battle, off the top of my head. (havent read it years) But to my understanding rogues dont embody either of these traits. Warlocks would however.

yeah definitely i can see that. warlocks are just straight up abuse of power from another source, someone said at one point a quick way to get the power desired, i could see one of these zandalari going into it as a brutal form, as well as what do they claim as voodoo which is bad if not the fel? shadow magics? then they wouldn’t like priest in that regard. i get lore is breaking for those who RP which is nice and all. but i was just honestly looking forward to this race so much…now i don’t get to do it afterall and it was literally the selling point for me.

Warlocks don’t just use FEL exclusively. I’ve read that a few times already as if its a valid point. Please stop.

SOMEONE FINALLY GETS IT!!!

I can understand the RP reasons behind this request. Still not sure why they can’t be.

Umm… the same way anything spreads cross-culture: someone teaches someone. Pandaren were isolated and unknown to the other races of Azeroth yet we have monks of other races. Because, wait for it, the Pandaren taught people how to kung fu. Doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to have someone with an imp say to a Ztroll “psst hey buddy, wanna learn something kewl?”
