I wish they’d bring back the quests to get your demons/dreadsteed. Those did a good job when it came to displaying the dark magics at work.
I still have my mats…
Nah. The rule is “one random NPC doesn’t a class make” according to Blizz.
It’s the whole “one random NPC” part. From Legion when they randomly introduced some NPC into a class that race has never had any ties to. Blizz said that one NPC doesn’t mean the whole race should be that class.
And Nelf Paladin fans are still sad, although it was technically two… not one.
They were probably talking about, Dela or whatever her name is? Just guessing.
Ok, op I’ll throw you a bone.
The only way I can see Zandalari maybe considering becoming a warlock…
Is the Outcasts taking interest. They’re already thrown out of the kingdom (and now “living” in Vol’dun) and have nothing else really, but to survive. The only problem again comes from if they can look past their loa worshiping ways.
Thought on how a Zandalari Troll could become a warlock… Joe Zandalari Troll has spent the past several months fighting along side this Tom Darkspear fellow who is summoning all manner of nasty things to do battle for him and wonders how does he do this. Joe Zandalari ask Tom Darkspear how do you have such powwa and summon such tings? Tom Darkspear says I will teach ya mon… And Boom you have Zanadalari Warlocks as a class…
The difference there is Blizzard indicated from the very beginning that it was possible or could be possible at some point. There was also in game evidence in the form of Prelates and spells coded in showing X was the case.
But in your case / The Warlocks, they flat out said “No, and here is why”, and then proceeded to show that Blood / Super Dark Shadow magic was the enemy of the Zandalari. So if anything be glad you got a straight answer Ashfinger.
Recreating threads that Blizzard has already given a solid answer on though is a form of spamming. Stop trying to get other classes cut, and stop trying to lead a one man crusade to get Blizzard to change it’s mind.
Maybe someday Zandalari Warlocks will happen. Maybe. I hope for your sake they do. But at this point in the game, it’s unreasonable to expect 1 Race to be able to be every single non-hero class and it’s rotten to try and take someone else’s fun away for your own sake.
Do you know what Zandalari call other trolls? “Lesser Tribes”.
They also make fun of Darkspear for living in huts. You think they will admit that they want to learn anything from us? I think their pride would stop them from that.
Darkspear is very progressive compared to other trolls tribes when it comes to learning new magic and letting go of traditions.
Dude what are you talking about? Zandalari Warlocks were removed last minute, not something that was stated as NO from the beginning.
You say “But at this point in the game, it’s unreasonable to expect 1 Race to be able to be every single non-hero class and it’s rotten to try and take someone else’s fun away for your own sake.” yet it’s ok for Warlocks to lose Zandalari just so Paladins & Monks can get them, and so Kul Tirans can get Mages?
to be fair they did promote them at blizzcon. they even had it web page for a few days. The only reason I think that they were remove is alliance out cry over them. there was a lot alliance players saying it did not fit lore. they also were asking for mages. Which still find funny.
Don’t believe me look it up. The reason they give for one side to have more classes because of two lore character on alliance side. ignore entire zone and culture to boot. then made her leader.
It drives me nuts. How can the local go after any spell caster and now except one in ranks and a leader. Its just seems that lore/culture for this expansion out the window. they uses it to say no to one and yes to other. By bending lore. Go do quest on alliance side they have three were you go after witches. they directly indicate mages as witches.
Btw I don’t know still there. But were there not trolls that practice warlock in stranglehold area. I can be wrong. never like the place. Some reason I remember them being related to current trolls.
I just picked a random Troll tribe, you could substitute any Horde Race that has Warlocks as a possible teacher. The premise is the same a Zanadalri troll sees someone in battle that he has been fighting alongside for months and ask to learn how its done.
This whole discussion seems to boil down to “why can’t [race] get [class] when [other race] can? That’s lame, I want to be a [race] [class]!”
I think race/class restrictions are a bit tired at this point. The Blizzard writing staff is clever enough to create new lore reasons why new/existing races can perform warlock-ish spells (perhaps if slightly re-themed), or shapeshift, or whatever. Just remove the restrictions already.
I said a similar thing here: Three playable allied races you would like to see? - #134 by Monza-scarlet-crusade
How were they removed last minute when this announcement was weeks ago and we’re not getting them until 8.1.5?
When they were announced at Blizz-con the class was part of the blurb on them. The last minute idea is due to they had already said the race would have said class. At least this is my understanding of why the term last minute is being used.
Naw man. This whole thing started snowballing when they made Horde have Pallies and Alliance got Shaman. Different races being different is fun! I like that my jungle troll from Azeroth has different abilities and skills than a blue, elephant riding space alien. Everybody wants every race to be every class, to dissolve all racials, get rid of factions. WTF? What kind of game do you want? An Orc Paladin skipping through the flowers with Dranei druid…? Not having Zandalari Locks is a bummer sure, but there is only one in all of Zandalar (the exile guy in Voldun) and the lore really isn’t there anyway.
Now your just reaching. Zandalari Warlocks were not removed at the last minute. It’s called a Powerpoint error. A different team likely handles the Website, and so it took a few days to get them back in sync. This sort of thing happens from time to time. You were given a blue post that it was an error by Ythisens. That should be enough.
What these posts boil down to, is simply the fact that you dislike what Blizzard said and want to be the one in charge of what is what. You were told “Sorry but no”, and so much like a child throwing a tantrum, you are now trying to flood the forums with the same repeated talking-points, coupled with angry demands that Blizzard cut X class so you can get your way. That isn’t going to convince them.
On another note, Kul’Tirans and Mages have no relevance to this discussion. You should consider not bringing them up, it does not increase your argument’s standing.
Learning the fighting style of your enemy to gain a tactical advantage has been a battle strategy for as long as there has been strategy in battle.
Are you implying that the Zandalari, who have some of the best tactical minds when it comes to battle, couldn’t sit back, study the Pandaren as they fought, then figure out how to use those techniques against the Pandaren?
Not to derail the thread, I don’t like Zandalari Monks either. I agree with you, in the fact that they could learn from observation or force, but I think they’d be too proud. Why would the strongest of all Troll tribes need to stoop to the level of Pandaren skills. I am really hoping for some awkward interactions with pandaren monk trainers who see a Zandalari monk walking by though. haha.
