People who want to play TBC or Wrath are completely lost. You cannot be helped.

TBC killed World of Warcraft and WotLK defiled its dead body.

You guys asking for these falsely so called expansions to repeat are what got Classic into the mess its currently in. And you dont even realize it.

So far Cata is the best classic expansion imo

Umm, is Cata an expansion or a

World of Warcraft has no expansions.

The very first falsely so called expansion forever broke the game by introducing the lazy “expansion” formula they still follow today, with neutral faction hubs, isolated continents and all the other countless MMORPG killing ideas.

TBC even brought flying.

It never expanded upon the game, it took away more than it added.

People always name Pandaria, Draenor, BfA or Shadowlands but TBC is where the game stopped being an MMORPG. TBC Always was the end, and therefor anything after it shouldnt even be addressed.

How do people still not understand this?

The only people who call TBC or Wrath good are people who started during them. They never knew what the game was. There is no open world gameplay, no faction identity, its all a grey, instanced mess. And gosh do these added continents always feel small.

Since you bring it up, when I was leveling what would become my first ever max-level WoW character, I had come over from playing D2/D2 LoD to play WoW with friends from high school.

I had anticipated being able to play through Vanilla, level 60 content and then upgrade to the expansion like you would in D2 → LoD. There was an expansion trial, which I used and then my toon got stuck in Outland, and I had to buy TBC to keep playing it.

There was no option to keep playing at level 60, and even if I hadn’t taken the trial, I wouldn’t be able to play with the original level 60 tuning, mobs, world, talent trees, etc.

It added the TBC changes, it just did so in a way that replaced whatever was there before, such that it was no longer an option to not move forward.

You can still like them; just like you can still like other lobby games, because they are enjoyable. But your point about them not being expansions in the sense that they only add content, because they actually remove/obsolete content is taken.

Exactly correct. Vanilla is bis, rest are dumpster fires.

We just had one. Now we wait.

We’re gonna have to wait and see when and where the current train stops rolling and what the landscape looks like when we get there. I like to think there will be fresh servers and another trip through perhaps with era servers for TBC/Wrath complete with cloning but there’s no telling.

Knock it off, you aren’t forced to play it. This is completely subjective.

Not my cup of tea, but I’m glad you are enjoying it. :slightly_smiling_face:

No its not, what are you talking about?

TBC objectively traded 2 full continents for 7 ugly zones.

TBC objectively killed open world gameplay with flying.

TBC objectively destroyed faction identity by placing blood elves/paladins in the horde and shamans in the alliance. Also by cramping both factions into one neutral hub.

TBC is not a MMORPG. You sit in a neutral city hub or do instanced content. Theres no world, no warcraft, nothing.

M Massively
M Multiplayer
O Online
RP Roleplaying
G Game
Actually it is. It contains all the elements in the tag.

This is an opinion.

This is an opinion.

While I agree that Vanilla is the best, you are stating your opinions. Meaning your post is subjective.

No its not, Blizzard literally did polls and the genius community asked for the falsely so called expansions to repeat.

Who knows what Classic could look like today if they had not.

When i played 2019 Classic and saw people talking about TBC in world chat, i couldnt believe it. Now we are at Cataclysm. Lol. Draenor soon guys.

TBC ended World of Warcraft in 2006 and people wanted it to end World of Warcraft again. Thats why youre stuck with Cataclysm and SOD now.

The community is absolutely to blame.

This is an opinion. Anything after Vanilla is an expansion. Grab your Webster man.

Post mortem speculation is meaningless. “It is what it is”

Yep, people like things that you don’t. You don’t need to be insulting and gaslighting guy. If you really don’t like the additional expansions being added to Classic Vanilla… don’t play them. I don’t bother with them and the sky hasn’t fallen.

How is The Burning Crusade an expansion when it

#1 traded 2 MASSIVE continents for 7 zones.

#2 removed open world pvp with flying.

#3 killed the factions by completely removing their identity. (horde blood elves/paladins, neutral hub, alliance shamans)

How? Explain.

Im probably forgetting a bunch of points, but these should be the key ones.

An expansion is additional content added to existing content ( in gaming ). It can further the story, add to the story, change the course of the story etc. It can add different characters, zones, worlds and more. You are playing an evolving game/story. It is not static.

It is exactly as described above.
You may not like the changes that occur from ann expansion, you may have preferred a different course, you may have other grievances, but it is still an expansion.
Again, get a dictionary and use it.

People asking for another run if the trilogy aren’t

They just want something you dislike. Calling them names/putting them down doesn’t help your argument, it’s childish.

Obviously Upright never player original world of wacraft the 2 classic expansions that generated millions of subscribers till for decades… They are and always will be the best expansions and your troll comments wont matter.

It is millions of dollars revenue for blizzard a month keeping classic servers, that otherwise they would lose.

Because the classic player base simply only came back in 2018 starting to play the trilogy forever and not go back into retail because roughly 2 million subscribers only play classic.

And let me remind you that is a Huge revenue for share holders at Activision/Blizzard/

Of course the earliest expansions are the “best” when it just gets progressively worse.

Im saying ALL “expansions” are garbage, so the “best expansion” doesnt exactly mean much.

Stop calling it a trilogy. This isnt Lord of the Rings. TBC and Wrath are NOTHING like the original game.
