You came down on the GDKP guys saying that you wanted to combat Gold Sellers. Then you Up the Price of the Mounts we can buy at 40 from 40 gold to 80 gold. What’s next? A WoW Token to “Counter the Gold Sellers”? Or to make it easier to buy the mount that you just jacked up? Seems like snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory to me.

The 40g price wasnt intended. That was the Season of Mastery price. All they did was set the mount price back to vanilla prices.
We know the SoD servers were likely hosting Season of Mastery realms and they probably used SoM realms and ruleset to build SoD.
That’s probably why it was at 40g in the first place.
What is there to explain, gold is insanely easy to get in WOW, and the vast majority of people with gold made it without ever getting involved in RMT. There also never have been enough gold sinks, which has led to the amount of gold on the servers skyrocketing, and if people/blizzard want to get gold out of the economy, there is only one way to do it, and that is not by giving away things like mounts, or respects for free.
I have 40 gold across my toons rn because of drunkenly leveling alts professions…yet I’m not worried that it’s reverted to normal.
It’ll be fineee — 15 levels of quests and dungeon spamming’ll give yeh more than you need before you even hit 40.
