Because people dont know what the term Troll is or where it came from, they have the CNN definition of Troll in their head, trolling is a fishing tactic and the original term reflects trolling as fishing. Trolling is neither good nor bad, it is an art, and has nothing to do with arguing or disagreeing. Being a jerk online is not Trolling, arguing or being contrarian is not trolling.

Trolling (was) sarcasm on the internet with the intent to get some one to respond to the sarcasm as if they were serious. Trolling then change to incorporate “derailing a thread” because that was a side effect of getting people to respond to your sarcasm.

Racism, disagreements, having wrong think, not being PC, calling people names, ect are NOT trolling. Using racism sarcastically in order to get some one to respond as if you are not being sarcastic, is still trolling but extremely lazy.

Heres an example of an old Troll that I used to get people with back when trade chat was global. “Mages suck, they are the worst dps in the game. All you need are hunters and druids.” Clearly BSing hard, no one should take this seriously but people would argue for hours and send me all kinds of hate tells.

Why do you even report anybody? All of the actual moderation is done by Blizzard forum mods, unlike in the game. The only thing you can do is make them hidden, which honestly doesn’t help because it just makes people want to click on it to see what got so many peoples’ undies in a bunch.

Just calm down. To be honest, you are the reason trolls exist anyways, so we should all be mad at you. If everybody ignored intentional stupidity, people would be significantly less intentionally stupid.
