Blizzard: Please allow screenshots

With the launch of early access player housing today, I already see people talking about posting screenshots.

Please allow people, in this forum only, to post screenshots of their housing. I would love to see what people come up with and don’t want to have to deal with clicking links and being taken to external sites. I just want to scroll and see what people are making.

FYI: there is a r/wowhousing on Reddit.

Some a**hole got my permabanned on Reddit a few years back and now I can’t use Reddit at all. I can browse, but not like, comment, or post anything

Not everyone uses Reddit. OP isn’t really asking for much for the official forums…

if nothing else, they could always make one single thread, an image repository where the only thing they can post is a screenshot of their housing. However, if you really want to get creative, you can download OBS studio software and record a walk-through of your entire home, save it to YouTube, and then login through mobile and post your YouTube video.

I know, that’s why I pointed it out to here. Good catch, ‘though.

I will be completely honest… I am completely stupid when it comes to recoding video :joy: I know how to use my camera to record me or other people, but that’s as far as my knowledge and experience goes. I have no idea how to screen record or edit or anything like that.

As a millennial, I have failed  lol

OBS studio is completely free to download and very easy to use. There’s probably 10,000 videos on it. The only thing you really have to do is open obs one scene with one source and that’s the screen capture or the game capture whichever way you wanna put it. And then on the right hand side there’s a button that says start recording and then you just go back to your game window play as normal and when you’re done come back to OBS hit stop recording and then you can physically go to the folder where the video exist and upload it to YouTube. It sounds daunting, but I promise it’s like five minutes worth of set up, the recording, and two minutes to upload.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to check it out- could even be a cool way to start a channel.

I can get on board with this.
I toured a plot last night with a huge golem in the yard holding Onyxia’s head in his hand. Right next door, someone had built a heck of a multilevel deck off the side of their house.

I got all sorts of screenshots I would love to share

I think I’m going to try to build a mobile home on my Horde plot. It would fit the aesthetic of the zone much better. I’m honestly disappointed in Razorwind Shores not having a more diverse biome. Nothing but tan, brown, orange, and yellow.

I don’t have any horde alts- yet, now I have a reason to create them- and I like the Razorwind Shores diversity better than Founder’s Point. I especially love the beach area, with all the little islands, and the jungle vibes. I hope I’ll be able to get a home in that area when I create my horde alt.

Like imgr or other basic image sharing / gifs should be more accessible but there are those :bread: that just spam nonsense when they have it.

Takes 1 to ruin it for all.

Yeah, but it’s a pain- you have to highlight, copy, open new tab, paste, go… for every screenshot you want to see. I just want to brainlessly scroll.

I agree. It’s annoying. Some websites do work though and a person used to be able to posr tiktok without trust level 3 but idk if thar 1 still works 2 if it does works on slides.

Youtube works with trust level 2 I think idk about community posts though.

The one that got you banned was you, I’m 100% certain. That actually makes my day, you can’t post on reddit :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

I think the reason why they haven’t done it, because of some people’s intentions. Though I do agree, should allow people to post screenshots of their player homes, but sadly, not going to be possible due to the intentions of some people.

Can always post the link into a Code Line and us TL3 folks are always happy to help out with the links.

Had to log into an alt- it’s not letting me respond for some reason.

Anyway- yes. That’s usually the reaction I get :joy: But no… it was a group of trolls, and I wasn’t the only target. TLDR, I’m part of a fan community, and for years these trolls harassed members of that community, even cross-platform. They targeted entire subs and got those taken down. It’s a bit wild, but that’s the gist of it. It took years, but they reported accounts and subs until they got taken down. And it was a whole group of people too, so for every account you blocked, dozens or even hundreds more would pop up. They had their own communities where they would plot things like that.

We tried to fight it, but the whole customer service system is just AI and it runs you in circles and doesn’t really do anything. So I’ve just come to accept my defeat :joy:

there is always the wowkea discord!

I don’t use discord, but I did come across her channel today as I’ve been browsing YouTube, she had one about faking basements- and so I subbed! Looking forward to seeing more from her.
