This situation does not apply to me. I was ready for this.
That doesn’t mean I can’t be sympathetic to the people who went into Classic from Retail or Vanilla with no knowledge of 201X Vanilla Meta.
It’s difficult not to feel a bit of schadenfreude with all these “PvP is the only real game/PvE is filled with carebear” PvP tears.
Just reroll. Consider it your penance for buying to the rhetoric.

Simple answer. Things happened. Either you take control of your life and make choices or you play the “helpless” card and say to yourself “It is not my fault.”.
I think that’s the reality. While, I can try my best to be sympathetic to the OP, I also really hope that this sort of sentiment does not ruin the enjoyment of Classic for those of us who genuinely remember and like the days when, “Oh, you don’t like your UD female priest’s skin tone, but you really want to keep the name? Delete, and reroll.”
I deleted 2 max-level characters back in the day: Priest and Warlock, because I was unhappy with my decisions for race and/or sex. This is the type of thing I fondly remember about Vanilla, and expect to remain, at least for a few more months, in Classic.
Mentioning that people got surprised is not saying that it is not their fault.

I hope that Blizzard does not change the game to satisfy those who are whining about their decisions to roll on PVP servers, and will quit if they cannot transfer now, because I won’t reroll, and the game is unplayable.
If they do, they would be hurting those of us who are enjoying it the way it is (minus the lag, of course. They could fix that, and I don’t think anybody would complain).
Typical mentality of a child is to point at other people who you might think are guilty, and to whine “but they did it tooooooo!” In fact, it’s a logical fallacy, called the “tu quoque fallacy,” go look it up.
But this all assumes you’re correct in that I am a child for asking for a transfer, which is absurd. I never even asked for a free transfer, either. Maybe I’ll pay for it with real money!
You don’t get to call other people “man-children” and “teenagers that never grew up”.
I do if they come to this post, which has nothing to do with them, and affects them in no way, just to offer hostile replies to people they don’t know, because they’ve decided to take this post personally.
I don’t roll on PvP servers because I know EXACTLY what goes on there. If you didn’t already know how people behave there, you were deluding yourself.

I already have. But, you really should take your own advice, bud. For, every piece of your sentence can just as easily be levied directly back at you, which makes you an extreme hypocrite.
Basically the point.
In Vanilla when they had xfers you could xfer from PvP to PvE but never PvE to PvP.
Even though something like this would be Vanilla-Accurate, I still wouldn’t want it because it would create further faction disparity as Alliance xfer to from pvp servers to pve servers.
I’d totally be on board for faction locked xfers from PvP to PvE servers though 
I think this is why so many people use terms like, “Go back to Retail,” and “PVP happened on a PVP server,” etc. because, the issue here is that it does affect them_.
What you are asking for is changes. And changes affect us all. Seeing how changes are what lead us to Retail, and one might assume that the majority of us are enjoying Classic for all the reasons it is not retail, people seem to get somewhat defensive about Classic when they hear people asking for changes.
You may not want to reroll. You may not enjoy Classic PVP servers. Kurinnaxx, if that’s the server you are on, does not have transfers available, because it isn’t high enough population, apparently. So, you couldn’t transfer to Earthfury or whatever other server some others are asking people to come to, but that wouldn’t solve your issue anyway.
So, you’d like Blizzard to allow for transfers now.
What about for people who actually have rerolled? The ones who spent the time to roll a new character on a new server. How would they feel if they suddenly could just transfer their characters from a PVP server to a PVE server. Was that even a possibility during Vanilla? I sure doubt those people who have done that would be anticipating such a major change to happen, so soon.
Anyway, I hope you find a resolution to your problem, but I also sincerely hope that that resolution is not Blizzard changing Classic to accommodate what you want, at the expense of those of us who are enjoying it for what it is.

Wait, does that mean that Clik and you are also whiners on the forums, because people are doing and saying things that you don’t want? I mean, here you are, constantly whining about my desire to transfer (which has nothing to do with you, whatsoever). Clik is here spouting off some nonsense about “changing my beloved game!” even though nobody wants to do that.
I mean, here you both are, whining up a storm, because some random person has a desire to transfer off of a PvP server. Man, I couldn’t think of something more hypocritical. Might wanna get checked, buddy, because you have problems.
I found this: https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Transfer which says:
“In mid 2006, Blizzard Entertainment began the Paid Character Transfer Service, which is sometimes referred to as PCT. The Paid Character Transfer feature allows you to move characters to other realms as well as between two accounts where you are the original registered owner, subject to certain restrictions.”
I couldn’t find the exact details. I do remember some restrictions changes during BC, not too long before Wrath, but perhaps that was when they lifted the restriction from PVE to PVP?
Anyway, if transfers came out in Vanilla in Mid 2006, and BC came out in Jan 2007, I don’t think anybody is expecting them soon for Classic.

Give this some consideration:
Patch 1.11 came out in mid 2006.
We are running off patch 1.12 Vanilla. I could totally see them coming in a new patch, just not sure when.
