Castable in combat, instant cast, ability to jump, immunity to polymorph, and ability to remove roots while mounted are all NOT available with any profession items and are all only available to druids.
Edit: Had passenger capability in there by accident.
You’re not asking for just the ability to walk on water until hit, you’re asking for EVERYTHING else that travel form currently entails (instant cast, castable in combat, ability to jump, immunity to polymorph, no dismount upon daze) PLUS that, which would make it immensely unfair, especially because with what is going to go live you can PICK to do that. You of course won’t because travel form is so powerful, but you’re not saying “hey give every other class instant cast spells that are immune to polymorph, daze etc”, you’re wanting that EXCLUSIVELY all for druids.
The other good thing about a parachute for druids is that if they are not able to fly, and get on a big ledge, they can mount up, jump off and 'chute down. Still the best of all worlds.
I’m not sure. Maybe portals, the ability to summon party members, increased mount speed, waterwalking without having to use an item…you know…unique class features and such.
I guess you missed the point of my last post. I was listing off class features ironically, those that aren’t being gimped by the introduction of a new mount system.
Class mounts aren’t “gone”, players who got them still have them and can use them in BFA currently, unless they rolled a druid.
I did look back and it was intended to be in the mount journal, but something went wrong… i.e. Blizzard screwed up on something and failed to fix it… shocker. No the mounts aren’t gone, but the expansion is past and they can’t even fix what’s wrong with this one. Yes, there are 2 classes that can waterwalk. /class envy
It’s not about class envy. I fully support the idea of classes having “perks”. Much how I was happy for several reasons when “Have Group, Will Travel” was removed from the game (one being that it invalidated one of the major class “perks” of warlocks), it’s a bit frustrating to see that our travel form won’t be able to benefit from mount equipment, specifically after the fiasco involving the druid class mount (form?) leading up to this point.
Honestly I don’t care much about what other classes have. I’m happy as a druid. I like what we have. I like all of the travel forms. It’s obvious that you don’t.
None of those make walking on water, not getting dazed, and having a parachute OP…
BUT…
•Ghost wolf is castable in combat, should we nerf that too?
•I don’t know why the ability to jump is special to druids, but I guess…?
•the ability to remove roots while mounted?! If you get rooted, you are in combat, you have to leave the form and go back into it, and now you are far slower than before. Paladins also have the ability to Remove roots.
•Immune to poly? Watch the Arena tournament and you will still see plenty of polygomorphs go off onto druids. They are only immune in a shapeshift form, and that’s only 1 type of that CC.
Again, a lot of these are class based mechanics, running on water, or not getting dazed isn’t going to make those even more OP lol.
You are arguing against stuff that we can already do as druids, just not baseline.
I am happy with druids, I just don’t see how features such as this shouldn’t apply to druids travel form.
You and everyone else argues that it would be OP, but have yet to give reasoning as to why it would be OP for a Druid to do what everyone already can do, just passive instead of profession items making it possible.
It wouldn’t be OP. It would be restrictive. If you want the druid forms as mounts, you would have to choose only one item to put on them all. The forms would have mount restrictions… i.e. not insta-cast, can be dismounted, not mountable in combat, etc. If you get mount equipment, then you get mount restrictions.
Again, the insta-cast is comparable to the speed buff of a pally and death knight.
It’s a mechanic of the class. Instant cast has no effect on any of the mount equipment, so I don’t see how it would be beneficial to change it to a Cast-able ability.
And again, everything they are adding onto mount equipment can ALREADY be done by druids and other classes, it just isn’t account bound passively.
Only a few classes can do any one of those equipment effects. Druids can do 2 of them, not dismountable/stun removal and faster swimming (almost water walking compared to those who won’t choose to water walk). Only the parachute will be unique to the druid class.
So by your statement that everything they are adding onto mount equipment can ALREADY be done by druids, what is the problem? Why cry for more? The mount equipment will be account bound as they are purchased by one character to be mailed to an alt.
Of course it wouldn’t be beneficial. That’s why druids should never want their travel form treated as a mount. If they did, the forms would have mount restrictions. You can feel free to mount up at any time on one of your many mounts that you choose to put equipment on.
