Explain this to me please.
Valor being capped for 8 weeks means its technically more efficient to wait 8 weeks to push your keys as youll be maximizing the valor instead of overcapping. Now as a 2450IO 414 Tank you cant even find +2Valor farm groups because theres so many people. So its not overly efficient to farm low groups now or high groups early. That just feels bad.
I know there are people who will say that pushing is for vault and such and yes that is a benifit but majority of people arent doing 8 20+s a week to maximize their chances at not getting a neck when BIS lariat is for every class.
My next point is although the raid is well done, fun and in my opinion fairly well balanced the loot system is HORRIFIC. 8 weeks of raiding between Normal/Heroic/Mythic and recieving almost no loot for like 6 of those weeks and if loot does drop its used half the time as an offspec because nothing better drops for that player or they take a BIS rare ring that does fire dmg as a resto druid for Ilvl.
The overall enjoyabilty from alot of people is decreasing because more time into the game doesnt = more reward. It seems to just = more opportunity to be let down.
Im well aware people should be able to roll for offspec but you need one piece and 3 times a week u try for it only to lose it or have it not drop for 8 weeks straight is just tiresome.
My rant has just a few points.
Valor and Conquest/Honor should have no CAP. If someone wants to play more then me then they should be able to enjoy the game as much as they want. It doesnt help people stay competitive.
2.The removal of loot tokens is literally just a removal of a bonus fun mechanic that can feel really good with little upset and they removed it just because.
3.With how little people are raiding now with almost a 50% drop in raiders since castle and a steady decline before that, make it worth peoples time. Especially for people progging.
4.Affixes arent fun anymore. Remove them and add infinitly scaling mobs. Let people have fun pulling huge trash mobs like in Freehold.
Im doing alot of crying here on the forum for the first time ever. Ive played since 2005 and this is the earliest ive ever unsubbed. This is probably my last time putting faith in the developers of this game. Its not for me anymore. I hope the people who disagree with my opinion continue to enjoy the game they love! Ive had a good run!

chasing efficiency is not fun for 8 weeks though…
but as a tank, it’s odd you cant get groups.
I got into a few 2’s and I suck pretty bad at them, tbh. It’s kind of funny. Group ends up carrying me cause I can’t do any damage
So instead of targeting 2’s, target like 8-12. They still go pretty quick and it helps the lower io people who are actually wanting to push their keys.
It is pretty funny how hard it is to get invited to a 2 though. Gotta be quick!
You can still upgrade things in the first 8 weeks, so it’s not like it isn’t worth doing.
Its not thag its not “worth doing” but pushing IO youre wasting a ton of uncapped valor. If you just waited youd have a ton of valor for the gear you picked up in later keys.
If valor is uncapped from the beginning it’d be expected to be capped on week 2. People thought it was hard to get in groups they wanted before, no compete with the true no-lifer crowd.

You can’t wait, because then your io will suck and you won’t get invited to higher keys either. Maybe I’m not following you. shrug
This would only be true if valor is the only meaningful reward. It isn’t. There are valuable gear drops and vault slots in the first few weeks, there’s mounts, achievements, titles, and portals available above and beyond any valor gain, and there is IO score itself which helps getting better groups as the season goes on. If you focus on valor only, sure, you will see it as inefficient because so much is “wasted”, but if you focus on valor you’re missing out on all of the more important rewards.
They removed it just because they added the vault. You forgot to complete the sentence. Instead of an extra chance to roll gear they guaranteed a piece of gear every week.

Might as well delete normal and heroic raid after week 1 then cause there’s no point to them. By week 2 of season 4 in SL, normal and heroic raid were pointless.
The mobs already infinitely scale. Removing affixes just makes the dungeons boring and repetitive.
They also need to start addressing Halls of Infusion and Brackenhide now.
The beginning section of HoI has waaaayy too many casts that need to be priority kicked. Also the tank lockdown in that section is awful - just change it and completely rework those mobs.
Brackenhide is shaping up to be the longest dungeon timer of the xpac, and has multiple sources of poison DoTs that are like 3 minutes long. That needs to be changed ahead of time.
Don’t make the first month of the season become a beta. Make it great.
This will never be true, try to keep your expectations reasonable.
Not only is this true, you also have to consider that it took a couple months for Blizzard to sort out balance on this season’s dungeons… and you could probably make a fairly easy case that they aren’t there yet (lookin’ at you, Azure Vaults).
While it’s true that there’s always risk in being an early adopter, some eyebrows have definitely been raised this season. I guess firing large portions of your test staff has consequences
You’ve gotta decide what you wanna do though… do you wanna just play something else until it gets sorted out, or do you wanna get in and start playing right away? No bias from me either way, both seem to have their appeal.

The catalyst should have released 2-3 weeks sooner.
Uncapping valor should have been done on 10.0.5 because people were already 415-418 iLvl by then due to getting 5 bottled essences, 415 valor upgrades, and weekly vaults.
Uncapping valor at the start of a season is bad because people will just grind out to the rating requirements by week 2 to get the max item upgrades and spam +2s. People that try hard it will be all max mythic iLvl gear on week 2.

You wouldn’t be doing higher keys. You could start low and work your IO up just as u did origonally. The difference is when u reach 750 youre ONLY getting IO but if you waited the i weeks you could still push IO without losing out on capped valor.
But whats really the difference between waiting 2 weeks or 8? That if you were trying to get it all in 2 weeks you have 2 full weeks of “Content and progression” and if you wait 8 weeks its almost invalid for anyone who doesn’t have time for alts.
The Normal and Heroic raids are basically pointless already anyway. Vault and M+ outscale almost everything that isnt crafted. Aside from a few trinkets and rings.
The normal process of a new raid tier is that you hit up normal and heroic, grind for tier sets, and do M+ inbetween to gear up so you can push further into heroic and mythic. You’re gated on how much you can progress each week so that everyone is basically on the same footing.
If you uncap valor then M+ becomes automatically the best source for gear and the pressure ends up going on-to raiders to spam M+ all week so that everyone comes in next week 20 iLvls higher by doing 40+ keys in a single week.
Those frogs in HOI are going be ROUGH
Sure, but vault is once per week and even the +20 drops from m+ are 405 vs 411 from the end of heroic. Raids do have competitive gear but only if m+ can’t just upgrade to 415 by week 2.
If valor wasn’t capped gameplay would be 1. Grind 2-3 keys all day for every item you need. 2. grind 2-4 keys all day for valor you need. They want us to do the harder version more than once. Otherwise you would run them 1 time to get the unlock for upgrading then never go back. We have seen the low key grinding mentality with both BFA and SL.
Why don’t they just design the valor to scale with the key level? Seems silly to just leave it as it is entirely.
