I know they wanna keep the game toxic like their company office, but no. Right now their supposed “faction balance” is BS. The servers should be balanced 50/50. Not 50/60 when there is 1 alliance account, there needs to be 1 horde account all the way up, and if an account isn’t active then it needs to be removed from the balance list till it’s active again. Every time I go there it’s 40 damn alliance griefing anyone that comes. And yes this is considered griefing. You shouldn’t have a PvP event and only allow the servers top faction be able to gatekeep it, especially not when you are putting powerful needed progression items in it.
Except it’s not.
Yes it kinda is. It used to be bannable to corpse camp someone more than five times, even on a pvp server.
This is not true at all.
Corpse camping has never once been against the game’s ToS or EULA.
If they blizzard mod that read the ticket considers it griefing, they can and would ban people. I can promise you that, cause i’ve had someone banned for it.
I remember asking, and they said if it’s excessive and you can’t get away. They would kill me and have friends are spirit res kill me there.
I can guarantee you, this is not a thing.
If you played Alliance on almost any PvP server in P2 of Classic you would know.
I was chain MC/Polyd from BRM to Thorium Point GY and camped until i logged off.
Did you report? Nothing happens if you don’t report. I’m talking in actual vanilla, the same team isn’t running anything. Old blizzard wanted it to be fun, and there were only a handful of people that actually went out of their way to corpse camp the graveyard and the corpses. Usually you’d get killed and they’d move on.
I’d even accept a stacking debuff that decreases their max HP every 30 seconds for like a minute they are there, so if you wanna gatekeep atleast there is some negative that comes along with. It can stay a PvP thing, but an outnumbered faction shouldn’t grieve picking a faction, because their balance tactics didn’t work like they want too.
It’s why everyone always searched for a server that was predominantly the faction they wanted, for this very reason, so they dont get gatekeeped.
Yes.
That particular thing happened to me twice, but constant corpse camping? That was a constant occurrence for the entire month from P2 release until BGs came out. There were more Horde in Ironforge than Alliance at some points.
This happened on almost all PvP servers. Horde corpse camped Alliance into oblivion. Almost every PvP server in 2019 was heavily Horde dominated. It also makes many Alliance players very vengeful when they finally have the upper hand to get revenge. If Horde weren’t such pricks in 2019 there’d probably be some sympathy. I’m playing Horde now in SoD but I still understand it.
“Remember Phase 2”.
No matter what a GM may or may not have done in the past does not mean it’s a thing.
The rules have been defined since the game has launched, and the rules have always been “PvP happened on a PvP server”.
Well maybe I got the right GM that has the same outlook as me, if your pvping for fun it’s one thing but if your pvping to be toxic you should get a ban.
I mean I agree, but that’s not how the game works.
Even though to you this is a win, this is actually a massive failure. Because this sets the precedent that Blizzard will ban you for not even breaking rules.
If a GM thinks it’s a problem that GM should use their power to try to get the rules changed, rather than ban someone for doing something within the allowed rules of the game. Because at that point, you can apply the same logic to any rule.
I mean there is no telling what they banned them for, for all I know they looked at their chat logs and they found a reason to ban them, but they probably wouldn’t have told me that. All I was told is it looked a tad bit too excessive and they’d handle it on their ticket reply.
Plus vanilla GM’s used to break the rules all the time, there used to be plenty of them that would do stuff like freeze a player that was being toxic, or teleport them to the bottom of the ocean. They were pretty much given the choice to determine how they felt about the situation. Which is what every person in power should have.
Regardless the whole point is having pvp events one thing, making it so it can be abused and create a toxic environment is another thing.
I don’t really know what happened, i’ve always been horde, and we used to be way more toxic than alliance, and now it’s like most of the horde have grown up and most of the alliance have become toxic. I guess its true what they say you become the opposite of what you are when you are young when you become older.
Or they should really fix faction balance but I think they think it’s actually good enough that they accept it. But they just don’t have shard balance or something. Cause it’s been like this since phase 2 started, I’d see like a few horde occasionaly and full groups of alliance. That’s why groups is just Grow Up. Because even the guy that invented english thought groups of people were toxic af.
