Again not really. When I say “A story can have gay characters without having to explain it.” I mean that even if there was no true “reason” to have said character, that they can be added without any major story hook/could have easily been a straight couple and nothing would change. That it shouldn’t be out of the ordinary to just think that the gay couple was just added because the writer wanted to add one and not because it needed some hook/message.
You don’t ask for straight couples to have story hooks, if you added Mr and Mrs Smith, you wouldn’t complain even if they had absolutely no dialog and was just added as silent NPCs to populate the world.
You do know World of Warcraft is a collection of stories (quests) to tell a narrative? It’s not real life. It’s like reading, albeit, a highly convoluted book. Again, good writers, if they mention something about a character, there is a reason. Whether a couple is Straight or Gay doesn’t matter unless it’s part of the narrative. Only thing I’m complaining is WoW shoddy writing and people wanting to shoehorn stuff in for no reason at all. You’ll all want dollar store trash novellas and Geocities Fan Fiction.
No one cares about bread vendor #376, unless it gives a quest or is part of a narrative.
Actually that isn’t totally true. As an example, we have seen Marcus Jonathan, an old NPC back in Vanilla. He did not have any quests/he just stood there but if you /salute he would salute back.
He was killed off, in a book no less, and yet people still cared enough about him to makes posts about said death. Same could be said of Blanchy, and she was a horse!
Isn’t Anduin going to come out gay? I heard you post about that OP. Now why don’t you create some fan art of Anduin and Lorth’mar or whoever you paired him with and post it here.
