I got it! What about… an mmo about… wow characters. Playing WoW.
I got a better idea, why doesn’t Blizzard, somehow, split from the cancerous parasite that is Activision and make WoW a good game again. THEN make another MMORPG, one that the current dev team of WoW has nothing to do with.
Semper Fi!
Because they can’t without several several several tens of billions of dollars… if then. You offering to pony up for it?
I wish they would take everything they have learned over the years + all their ips and mash that into a big pot of mmorpg godliness… it would be epic.
They could easily pull off a SC mmo, with all three factions and healers, tanks, dps etc. I’d be preordering for sure.
I mean how hard could it be. Terran marines as ranged dps, medics, firebats etc. Protoss zealot, dark Templar, High Templar…so on and so forth.
Current WoW is everything they’ve learned over the years.
Whose definition of MMO are useing?
Yeah…yeah! You know what? Lets base it on Warcraft 3
To an extent.
There is only so much the game engine allows them to do, I feel like we would be sitting in a much better place if everything was built on a new engine, but that’s like never going to happen so,
so long as i can play a baneling, i’m sold
I really think the SC universe would be better represented outside the RTS genre as an FPS style game. Not Overwatch, or CoD style, but Battlefield/Arma style leaning more towards Arma. But you know… with an engine that isn’t garbage.
With large-scale multi-mile engagements that make full use of the combined arms and mobility displayed within the RTS.
Give siege tanks real range, and to have vikings… I want to fly a viking with my HOTAS and Oculus Rift so badly. To go from air to air and dive into the ground and transition into a Battlemech with enough Dakka to make an Ork cry.
A dedicated single-player story, and a multiplayer where people could easily rent and configure servers, set up AI opponents and have 64 or more players working together against them in player-built scripted battles and scenarios like Arma. With all the elements of the various weapons and firepower available in Starcraft.
Or to set up a fleet engagement, and have players working together to manage and operate a Battlecruiser, repel Zerg infestations straight out of Space Hulk: Deathwing, but with marines and Goliaths and zerg.
That would be the only non-RTS Starcraft experience worth the title.
Universe with a Steampunk tech faction, and a Magic faction (drawing from steamworks of magic and obscura, old single player rpg) . Factions war because their magic and tech interfere with each other. Would be a fun world.
Could always play as a queen who can control and spawn banelings! That way you don’t need to respawn every minute
nu, only baneling
I admire the dedication!
They tried that and we got Overwatch >.>
They worked on one for years, then dumped it, took the scraps, and made Overwatch.
We need galaxy of starcraft
I don’t think modern Blizzard would be able to pull off a new MMORPG worth writing home about. Hell, even WoW is only as big as it is because they released it at the perfect time with perfect conditions and got an early jumpstart over the competition.
And we already know they’re not keen on the idea of making another MMO after the cancellation of Titan. Morhaime said it’s not out of the question, but it’s not where they want to be spending their time (this was like, a handful of months before Overwatch launched).
