Blizzard need to reduce the difficulty of getting essences from Rustbolt Resistance

In Rustbolt Resistance it takes 20 “S.P.A.R.E. Crate” and 10 “Galvanic Oscillator” to buy one single rank 2 essence. It already takes a lot of time to farm 20 “S.P.A.R.E. Crate” which is 20*250 “Spare Parts”. But it is even more difficult to get “Galvanic Oscillator”. You get one single “Galvanic Oscillator” from daily quest and if you are very lucky you can get some from chests. I’ve got only one “Galvanic Oscillator” from chests since Mechagon zone was opened. And don’t mention that it will take you even more time to get rank 3 essences.

Simply comparing with “The Unshackled”, you need 10 “Prismatic Manapearl” to buy a rank 2 essence. How many manapearls can you get per day? Like 30~60? When I got revered rep of “The Unshackled” I was able to buy all three rank 2 essences right away.

The difficulties are not at the same level.

I really don’t understand why Blizzard make it so hard to get essences from Rustbolt Resistance. This is not fun at all.

This is probably Blizzard’s idea of “balance”. It’s far faster to get rep in Mechagon, but the prices for things are higher so you still have to spend time in Mechagon.

I don’t say it’s a good thing, but it’s a very…Blizzard thing.

Imagine if we could buy rank 2/3 directly instead of first having to spend resources on rank 1. Crazy notion, except…

From their own RoA preview page. I think Essence of Focusing Iris so far has been the only essence that you can get a higher rank directly, whereas all other essences require rank 1 first.

Didn’t you just make a thread complaining about the Galvanic Oscillators because you made a ring instead?

Besides, ten days is just under two weeks, which is about how long it’ll take you to get Rank 2 of the Mechagon specific Essence. So if you get one a day for ten days, you’ll be set for one. And if it’s not best in slot, no need to even worry about it?

Some Essences will be easier, some harder. I probably will never get the Rated PvP one. That’s far more unlikely for me to get than anything from Rustbolt, and honestly that’s fine. It’s only week three of 8.2, so we’re still looking at some grinds.

You compared this with “buying Azerite piece with Residuum” and I disagree with that. Comparing with getting essences from another faction would be more propriety.

Comparing with getting essences from “The Unshackled”, the difficulty of getting all essences from Rustbolt is obviously obsurd.

Do hybrids have to pay 2-3x as much? That would be no big deal if they cost 100G, but it seems particularly unfair if they have substantial costs from the vendor in addition to the rep grind. What is the need for double gating them anyway?

And then alts have to repeat the rep grind AND the material farm? I’m not normally quick to call game systems alt unfriendly, but that really seems like it fits.

P.S. And if those are the rank 2 costs, what are the rank 3 costs like? Yikes.

I have to agree with you that the amount needs to be lowered. I was under the assumption it would be a similar amount to the rank 1 essence of 4 Spare crates and 2 Galvanic oscillators.
For it to jump up so heavily just for rank 2 is a bit ridiculous.
Especially, as you pointed out, the Nazjatar rank 2 essences don’t jump up in price nearly as much.

Though I was a bit mad when they upped the required amount from ptr. 10 wasn’t so bad to get I had it within a couple days of patch launch, it is rng though, but I’m guessing if you’re upset with that amount you haven’t seen what rank 3 costs. Highly suggest if you have alts already at 120 and you think you’ll play them eventually, do at least the zone daily that takes like 5 minutes to get 1 a day. By the time you play them you’ll be into the rep grind already as you get like 850 a day, have a few alts into honored and that’s all they’ve done.

Hybrids do need to buy the essences separately for each spec.

Also, what are people doing that they think Rustbolt reputation is easier?
