Blizzard, make new characters, please

that’s it. just make some new lower-on-the-political/power-totempole characters. it’s getting awkward that every modern expansion we’re fighting alongside our political leaders. it’s really weird we’re letting such important characters fight on the frontlines.

to use another game as an example: skyrim. in skyrim when your fighting alongside the stormcloaks/empire, your not fighting alongside ulfric and general tulius (not until the final missions atleast), your fighting alongside ralof and hadvar! characters that are unique, but not so dang important that if they died it’d be a massive moral blow to their faction.

heck, dragonflight would’ve been the perfect expansion to introduce new characters as well! we’ve travelled to unknown lands, filled with strange dangers… you could’ve introduced some greenhorn adventurer characters on their first expedition, and had us tag along to keep them alive and show them the ropes! maybe have them make a couple quips about the location, similar to how yrel did back in WoD when travelling to embaari village, or lili in the valley of the four winds! y’know, make the world feel a little more real, and the character feel like an actual person, or at the very least entertaining?

just… i dunno… feels like another missed opportunity to add something small, yet significant.

tl;dr : i find it weird blizz keeps using important/powerful characters as if they were average joes/janes in the story, and wish they’d just make-up some new ones.

I think Blizzard does make characters they just never use them. Like I bet 100k gold the new characters that are in the Night Elf heritage questline we’ll never see them again.

Why? You’d rather have Thrall drinking Grog in Nagrand, than fighting by your side?

Actually, I’d love to see that questline. See thrall drinking grog. “Champion. Here’s the people you are training” and then like, every time you need to do a turn in, you have to find him drinking grog in a tavern. Different tavern each time.

Blizzard did a brilliant job of this in MoP with the Horde and Alliance teams in Jade Forest. Too bad so few of them have survived the years.

Blizzard makes characters, they just don’t treat them very well or drop them after a quest line or two.

Yes. He’s useless and just gets in the way.

yes. the man has been emotionally beaten down by time, let him have a frikkin break already!
think about it, he left the horde in garrosh’s hands, had to kill him, lost his control over the elements, saw his horde fight itself twice, had friends and family die right in-front of him, and on top of all this he’s become a father and has all those responsibilities heaped on him!

let the man have a break!

…not to mention it’s like a country going to war, and it’s president fighting on the frontlines. like, hello? why would they be out there, their role is essentially a desk job shuffling papers and signing bills, not fighting the enemy!

we should be fighting alongside new adventurers still figuring their crap out, not big important lore figures!

Yes 10 time savior of azeroth, please go to joe schmo he will be ordering you around for the entire expansion

I miss meeting some random dude who turns out to be a really cool dude, and we do cool things together. Then that dude pops up as a background dude, and you spot him in the big rp event like I KNOW THAT DUDE!! This doesn’t happen often anymore :frowning:

Honestly,I’m waiting for thralls quest to reinstate his powers. That could be an interesting quest.

I wish that would be so,we do need someone like that for at least a few expansions.
