No it really doesn’t. If they start forcing LGBT into the game in both middle eastern and Chinese versions, then we would know they were serious as they would face some serious backlash and lose money.
This idea is just pandering. Something we need far less of.
How about instead of messing around with these issues they do what gaming companies should focus on: making a great game.
A quick question. Are you so insecure in who you are that you require a companies backing to feel better about yourself? This isn’t meant to be insulting, its a genuine question as I am having trouble why people want this and its the only possibility I can come up with.
Be yourself and learn to love yourself and things like this become meaningless. Don’t hold your self esteem hostage to the whims of a corporation.
They want to “show” support
If they want to do so, okay, but I would like them to be consistent, like leaving it in the logo all year and in all platforms, it would mean some effort.
I know that… sadly my comments on that topic have been deleted several times in many post, but I have your same stance.
I face this a lot myself. Its sad that it happens.
I see it as they only show support because its easy and profitable to do so. Free Hong Kong wouldn’t have been the disaster it was if the company cared about people. And they would include LGBT character in all their games regardless of the region.
Instead of finding it a nice gesture I find it condescending.
Also I kinda see OP’s point but since I can’t post my perspective on society without getting flagged not surprised this one is. Even though there is a highly social aspect that is meant to be a thing in an mmo
