Blizzard listened in Europe. Noice

For those of you who participated in the debate about having “International Servers” / “European Servers”, Blizzard has just announced on the French and German forums that they will open French and German servers rather than only European Servers.

Good move honestly! Glad they did listen to the community

Now, about layering …

WTF!!! That’s awesome! Thanks for listening Blizzard, greatly appreciated! Or as we say in german, ein großes Dankeschön to you

Now let’s continue on that momentum, and have a little look at layering… lol :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s great news for our European friends.

Layering is a little different, as there is more support for layering than the more zealous of the anti-layering crowd likes to admit. (long term server health vs
phase 1 layering suckage argument) BUT it seems like Blizz are at least listening to us and are working to reduce the exploitability of layer-hopping

It’s actually the pro-Classic crowd. Cause the game with layering isn’t the full version of the game. If wanting the original game as it was announced, Classic, warts and all is being “zealous”, then that speaks volumes about who’s coming up and trying to spread that term.

There’s a reason why not wanting layering falls under #nochanges. Because…it’s a change, and a big boy one.

Whereas on the other hand, those who want #changes are all for layering, and for supporting to implement a different version of the game for launch, on top of the weeks and months ahead.
They’re the ones supposed to convince me and a lot of others that it’s a preferable version of the game, but they can’t, cause it’s clearly not as has been shown in videos, stress tests and so on.
So here we go with the toxic demeanor instead for those who don’t want to tune into their #change mentality, and their request for a different game cause they don’t wanna play the original start to finish. How dare them…bring out the censorship tools at once, we ran out of arguments!!

If wanting the game as advertised is being <insert poison here> then please, go ahead.
Reacting to something as simple of a request like that with all these desperate labels and insults just shows who’s a Blizzard whiteknight through and through, even if it’s gonna mess them and the game up, because they haven’t even made it very clear that they will change it. Many people still don’t know about this even. But they will found out on launch…

That great news for our European friends across the pond!

In other news…why does every thread devolve into layering so quickly

Blizzards original idea for EU servers was insanely dumb

I dunno, I think supporting long term server health is more pro classic than wanting dead servers. :man_shrugging:

Grats for everyone across the pond!!! Now if we could just get a RP PvP server.

i really wish all the anti-layering people would realize the experience of 2004 is gone. its never coming back no matter what blizzard does.

its 2019 now and blizzard needs to adept as best as it can

I am honestly fine with layering, or the idea of it. I understand the necessary evil.

I just think that there would be ways to implement it more intelligently. At the moment, you can truly abuse it as it has been shown and we don’t know how long phase 1 will be.
If it’s a mere month, I guess we can live with it. If it drags up to 4 months it starts to be more problematic, don’t you think?

I am #nochanges, but I am for Layering. Though I guess you could say I am more for supporting the Classic Team than the no changes crowd. They continue to impress me with how they listen and communicate with the community. So I am not fighting them on the thing that they will implement no matter what which is Layering. Allow them to have the security net they desire to be able to retain more players in the long run. If they do by chance end up keeping it in past phase 1 though. I assure you. I will quit the game then and there.

Cool, now about those rppvp realms and early AV…

More problematic in what sense?
Problematic like hunters/mages/warlocks/warriors being able to farm dire maul for 50g+ an hour?
Problematic like rogues being able to farm frost resist gear materials in Naxx solo?
Problematic like what exactly?

Layering = dead servers.

Cause more people will outright quit.

You wont get the same treatment.

Its America, you are going to play it anyway, so who cares?

Good then we won’t need layering.

Non layering also means dead servers too though so…

I’m #nochanges, but I’m okay with layering temporarily as a necessary evil because the game is going to be unplayable the first week without it.

We still might get RP-PvP but I wouldn’t count on 1.5 AV they seem pretty set on 1.12 AV and layering so I doubt they’ll change their minds on those

Definitely. I plan on playing at launch. If layering isn’t out by phase 2 or proves to be problematic I’m out and I’m unsubbing.

As it is right now I understand what it’s there for and would love to not wind up on a dead server. Layering is the best shot at that.

Its something they should have done anyways because of the large gap in Europes languages.

Layering wont change. Sorry to burst your safe soap bubbles but… Thats staying and as far as Im concerned I’ll take layering over 2day log in queues and constantly crashing servers for launch.

Not specifically 1.5, but early elements that were stripped out and nerfed.
