Blizzard listen this time

Blizz you need to listen this time… right off the bat, you guys need to address the fact that there should be no one-sided horde or alliance servers. Do not allow server transfers and or have caps for alliance horde for scaling populations. World pvp is a basic main fuel for the fun in the classic world of Warcraft. Once you have one-sided servers it will kill classic this is something that needs to be addressed before the launch.

While I am not huge on the PvP, I agree 100%. With how they are setting this season up, balanced sides will be very important for longevity.

Given the insane min/max nature of the classic playerbase, they could have some kind of buff based on current online faction balance. Your faction down a certain percentage, maybe you get that percentage of a damage, hp, damage mitigation buff. Something like that.

Watch players flock to that side for any kind of advantage. Inherently it’ll keep the factions balanced.

I’m more concerned for rampant botting / gold buying in era, honestly.

PvE try hards will go alliance. Even more so now with the massive buffs to ret, and shaman functionality being entirely covered by feral druids and paladin runes. So they get to have their cake and eat it too.

Maybe everyone will be a contrarian this time and want to be outnumbered?

Hopefully Ashenvale wpvp isn’t decided by which faction has the most bodies to throw around.

Limit transfers, don’t launch with too many realms. They best do something!

C’mon now.

You’ve played Classic with Black Rock Mountain pvp.

It will be hit and run groups ganking, until a massive death ball of opposite faction shows up.

And if you’re in the minority faction on your server, just move to a different location.

I love how you still refuse to acknowledge all these amazing runes are shared in similar slots and will have trade offs lol.

Rets will be good to start. Enh will be really bad in 25. Ele shaman should be pretty good in 25 man.

Then 4 weeks goes by and the 40 runes might completely flop it to horde.

Pretty sure it’s official Blizz policy to not interfere with faction balance.

That being said, the only suggestion I’ve seen that isn’t too draconian and that might help, is a short waiting period to create toons on the larger faction:

Having a pop up that tells you that if you want to create a new Alliance toon that you’ll have to wait in queue for ten minutes or, you can create a Horde toon immediately would gently push quite a few people toward choosing the smaller faction.

Can’t hurt, might help.

Players did this on their own, this is not blizzards issue.

If you wanna be the OP PvE faction, roll alliance.

If you wanna be outnumbered in PvP, roll horde.

Easy solution.

The runes are so OP the content will be steam rolled anyway.

I’m not so sure this issue is solved by just making sure the numbers of each faction is even, at least on PvE servers. I mean even if a server is split a perfect 50/50 that doesn’t mean that each side has an equal number of players that want to participate in pvp.

Another issue would be not allowing players to create characters on their desired server/faction with friends or guildies. These forums would melt down if that were the case.

In practice, since most alliance players tend to focus on PvE while horde tend to be more active in PvP, any server that is 65-35 A-H is fine, As long as horde don’t go over 50-50 A-H the server will be healthy.

When Alliance start to outnumber horde 2-1 or when horde start to go over 1-1 50% then that is when the servers fall apart.

“Blizzard created an Overpowered faction that has never been addressed. Players playing on the overpowered faction is not a Blizzard issue.”

Imagine STILL believing Blizzard had no hand in this?

That maybe true but I’m not sure how Blizz can balance the server populations without having a huge backlash from the players. It sounds good right up until someone doesn’t get to play with their friends and then the whole thing falls apart. It will be up to the players to decide if they want servers balanced or not. History seems to indicate that players prefer lopsided server populations.

Historically, yes.

Players are soft and complain endlessly the second they perceive the other faction as being bigger.

The only reason I stated its generally safe/stable for alliance to have the larger population slightly is because alliance attracts all the pve players or RP’ers, who generally don’t pvp in open world at all. So it gives some leeway there.

The best thing Blizzard COULD do here is not allow metrics about player pop to be available, and just give players a bonus for re-rolling when the other faction is dying.

The bragging from one faction over pushing the other from PVP servers is just one example of how this is not blizzards inherent fault.

Whatever narrative you wanna choose is your own choice, incorrect as it may be.

So you have no desire for actual discussion and are just flailing about.

Have a nice day and be better.

Spoken like an Alliance, Paladin main. Pathetic.

I would go horde for the orc racials alone as a hunter or lock. The 5% pet dmg cannot be duplicated by night elves or dwarves.

And at lvl 25 in a 10 man that dmg will be huge since hunters have no real primary talents except for maybe aimed shot if mm and whatever other mm rune.
