With all due respect Blizzard, I think you forgot the way to balance Fire in Midnight; the random ability buffs or just spamming aura buffs just shows it at this point.
This version of Fire is like really close to BFA Fire without old kindling(and phoenix flames but phoenix flames was bad in BFA so it had no pickrate), You’ve kinda baked in the Fireblast cdr from the Mechagon bracers into the spec with the apex talent but the one thing that is missing for Midnight Fire that made BFA Fire work, was a better version of Ignite.
Coming into Midnight you made changes that just really handicapped Ignite and I think it’s just obvious at this point how much that damaged the spec, BFA Ignite was just on crack, you could stack feel the burn Azerite traits, stack some other effects and it was just tuned better and it was spreading automatically, Now since beta the way you are treating Fire is like you are pretending Ignite doesn’t exist, 4 of our capstones are related to Ignite and all of them are just pretty meh, Because Ignite is either not tuned properly or the design is just bad.
All I’m asking is just please stop throwing random ability buffs or aura buffs at the spec and put an effort to actually tune it properly, in my humble opinion the way you can make this version of Fire work is through Frostfire hero talent and Ignite, so maybe just start buffing those aspects, 12.1.5 is not here yet so you still have time man.
I have this feedback for a way to make Flamestrike work with an Ignite focused build, so make a new talent for Flamestrike that makes it so that it has a reduced cast time and it makes it no longer be able to benefit from Hotstreak, and lastly makes Flamestrike drop flame patch on the target location, the flame patch doesn’t do damage but makes enemies who are standing on Flame patch take increased damage from Ignite, make this talent a choice node with Fuel the fire, so this talent basically turns Flamestrike into Blizzard(the spell) that enhances your Ignite and you can move it around anytime the enemies move away from the existing one, and make us able to track the duration of this flame patch through the CDM.
One last(last) request is to exclusively buff Fire’s survivability, Cauterize is probably the worst cheat death in the game, It’s pretty outdated and Blazing Barrier needs a soft rework too, the thorns mechanics of it is just useless in the high end PvE content and the healing part of it is just not good enough, could replace the thorns mechanic with something more useful and intuitive and add the thorns mechanic back via a pvp talent(if it is really relevant in PvP).
