[Blizzard]: It's time for a Shadowlands / Pre-Patch Content Release Date

One of your company values is to create games for people who make time to play them. There are plenty of us around the world wanting to coordinate time off of work, or traveling for the holidays, being with the family, etc.

I understand we are in unprecedented times, but we’re getting close to November and still have no guidance on even a pre-patch content switch on date.

How much longer do we have to wait?

I agree at this point they should at least drop a date.

I have been, and have been super supportive of the delay. We’ve known about SL for two years, and Blizzard has already gone on record about having more effective communication. What I’m asking for is not insane.

I agree the later it gets the worse it will be, but making threads like this is pointless.
They aren’t going to read this thread and suddenly change their mind on when to confirm.

I get it, but maybe they should. They created false hype with such an aggressive schedule that I’m sure they weren’t 100% confident they can hit. Now they have to own up to it and tell us the details.

It’s posts and demands like this that gave us an unfinished prepatch to begin with.

Can you people just relax and let them do their damn jobs during a pandemic and states burning down?

Right, but you demanding it on the forums isn’t going to make them do that. They barely comment on things that are obvious and easy, they aren’t suddenly going to announce the expansion just because we ask them to.

no

Perhaps you haven’t seen the news on WoWhead… But there was a fire near their HQs, people had to be evacuated… And oh! There’s a pandemic going on, in the middle of a US election.

Be patient, there is a lot of obstacles right now.

If they drop a release date, expectations are set.

They did this back in August and it backfired horribly when they realized they couldn’t have it done by the end of October.

It’s ready when it’s ready. You can always unsubscribe if you’re tired of waiting.

On the bright side, at least they’re not on their third pushed back release date like CDPR with Cyberpunk 2077.

This. It’s probably better to keep the delay as “indefinite” for now until they know for sure what date they can deliver on.

Why are you trying to police what people are saying on the forums? No, Blizzard isn’t likely to respond but posting on the forum at least makes people feel like they are giving voice to their frustrations.

Saying the thread is pointless is not policing.

Blizzard only communicates to flame the community on twitter for providing feedback and trying to help.

Finally someone who is fighting for this, I said the same thing to someone else

Just because you find something pointless… others don’t. When will people understand this, Just as you have the right say its pointless other have the right to express their frustrations of being let down.

Its hard to be paitent about this and its dumb to expect a community and player base to honestly care so much about whats going on; We understand there is a pandemic, and election, and fires; Consumers are not retarded to understand this.

Its the fact they released a date knowing this was going to happen, and still released it anyways, And are staying quiet probably to stop the play base from ripping them apart.

We are consumers. We are the community, At the end of the day, Yes. We know Human lives matter. But at the end of the day, Business wise?
I paid for this sub, And I will remove my money. If it doesn’t release… Why?

Because I am a consumer; and they are a buisness, Of course yes I care about the humans involved, but a business needs to understand… If they are going to release something, then they should expect subs to go down…

Why play when there is nothing to do?

Devs need to understand this; And people need to stop policing and or saying that people can’t feel a certain way, and are there fore forced to be patient and are ridiculed others, and its ridiculous.
Let people feel, they are allowed to feel.

We have been patient.

They could have released the game today but delayed the raid content until the elitists and 1% were happy. Instead nobody gets to play the game until they are appeased.

How many times do people have to point out that main quest lines and many spells are just broken don’t people get. You say it can be released now till you are three hours in and a main quest can’t be done, then you come back to scream how Blizzard released an unfinished game.

Saying something is pointless is not policing. Nobody is trying to silence you by pointing out how trivial a post like this is. It is not a matter of differing opinions more than it is someone making false equivalences.

There isn’t a single developer in the world that reveals a release date with the anticipation of delaying it. That is not how game development, or any form of development for that matter, works. If Blizzard said October 27th, chances are they truly believed that it would be ready October 27th.

If the player base has every intention of ripping them apart, then I don’t blame them for staying quiet. Why bother communicating at all if the results for being transparent and/or discrete are the same? People are going to be upset either way. It’s better for Blizzard to stay hush until they know for sure what the release date is at this point. Another delay will gut them as a company, and it will most certainly gut their subscriptions for those who chose to stick around.

Okay, then do it. I don’t know why you feel like you have some sort of obligation to stick around. If you don’t want to play the game, then leave.

There is plenty to do.

Again, nobody is policing you.
