Blizzard is ridiculous - 100%

There’s a difference between joking around with people and trying to solve a problem. :kissing_heart:

In this case, they gave the OP the initial troubleshooting steps to try and then most likely looked into it with the team who said there’s no workaround right now if the basic troubleshooting isn’t working.

A GM has gotten on my account before to fix a quest that didn’t work, so they definitely use to be able to do stuff like that. It’s just things have gotten worse since Microsoft took over.

They can only for a certain few things that have the ability to be worked around when the devs give them the ability to do so. Not everything works that way. Especially if this isn’t a known problem.

NOR WILL creating a bug report (done), contacting CS (done), re-contacting CS and filing more bug reports…Nothing is going to fix a bug in this game. WHEN this happens to you and you realize you main will forever be blocked from ongoing content - let me know your thoughts.

If you type

/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(84720))

does it say true for having completed the travel to Siren Isles quest?

I think they’ve just been hampered since being outsourced.

Did you do the full UI reset and delete your cache folder?

What exactly happened with this ring quest turn in you mentioned?

Did i rename all the folders (Cache, WTF, Interface)? Yes. The very first thing i tried.

Okay. So let’s go through the quests that take you out there.

When you run the script on each of these first intro quests, are they completed?

Apparently some people don’t properly get quest completion for To the Siren Isle!

Check to see if the quest is still in your log, abandon it if it is then re-accept it.

Pass. I will file a bug report though.

You’ve already made up your mind on how things work, and apparently they don’t work to your satisfaction so best of luck to you with that.

I finished the Heroic dungeons quest about 9:00 AM on Tuesday and noticed the quest was gone. I even flew to the quest-giver and couldn’t see it there anymore. Contacted Blizz support and they told me it was abandoned, and if it wasn’t, to submit a bug report.

Cool cool. More response void to jump into.

Even if OP is wrong to some degree, it’s true. Is a person actually reviewing these things or an AI? My case is odd and I’m willing to accept that, but is anyone genuinely interacting with a non-automated response?

The quest turn in bugged out and it is still in your quest log unable to be turned in? Good news! There is a very simple fix for this that has been in the game since launch. Abandon the bugged quest and pick it up again. Sometimes server hiccups prevent you from properly progressing a quest step so you have to do it again. Sometimes the only way to do it again is to start the quest over from the beginning. It is not the end of the world. And guess what… if a GM were to get on your account to fix it they most likely would just do exactly that, start the quest over for you.

Ticket responses can absolutely be templates. Especially the first response, as a triage method. It gives the standard troubleshooting steps to try, while they work with people that have more detrimental issues with the game, such as crashes, unable to even play at all, etc.

That’s not AI, though. Just templates.

Well hold on now, AI isn’t whatever we feel like calling it in the moment. The “person” who responded used a “template” to respond to me directly about the specific situation.

AI can both A) decipher what I wrote and break it down into the fine pieces, and B) automatically respond with said person’s name.

AI isn’t some living creature, it’s an automation tool. We can’t keep thinking of it like it has a lifeforce and provides. AI can supplement everything technology wise, even how Blizzard GM’s respond to tickets.

tl;dr: AI is just a fancy programming algorithm.

yeah and thats not what they’re getting paid to do.

They used to tell funny jokes once you were finished interacting with them :disappointed:

Corporations kill good customer service

Correct. Artificial Intelligence did not reply to your ticket. A GM chose a template file response to send to you.

I really miss human GMs.

Right. And you know AI doesn’t supplement that process because how?
