So blizzard no longer has ANY WAY to fix anything that happens in this game. So, as in my situation, my toon i have played for 12 years cannot get BACK to Siren Isles so that’s it. You can now turn your sub off and wait until the next expansion - where the same thing will most likely happen at some point - with no way for Blizzard to fix anything.
First - reset interface. second report bug. third - sorry, nothing we can do?! NOTHING BLIZZARD can do?!
HOW do you NOT have ANY way to fix a catastophe? Roll up a new character - and do this all over again?

To BE CLEAR - no ship, mole machine does now work.
Are you 100% certain you are going to the correct area where the ship is? I have ran countless toons through Siren Isle and the ship has always been there.

So Mole Machine works now and I doubt Blizz just randomly fixed this since you posted. User error? Phasing? Quest conflict? No idea.
If you put in a ticket and they told you that all you can do is report it as a bug then it sounds like something a GM can’t help with sadly. Whether or not it gets sent to someone who can fix it (like a dev or a higher-up or whatever team fixes bugs) is something that only Blizz knows and whether or not they take the time to fix it is also something that only Blizz knows. So yeah, if you have a workaround (even if it is time consuming and annoying) that is probably your best bet for a resolution because you may be left hanging or it may take a long while for Blizz to get to it.
It’s annoying that this is how it works now, but that’s how it is.
There are no GMs. IF this happens to ANY OF YOU - you are screwed. That feature does not exist any more. You put in a bug - they only care about crashes. The second you find you have some THING (whatever that is for you) not working - KNOW IT WILL NEVER WORK! this is blizzard! They no longer have anyone who can fix (they do - they chose to not do anything).
It’s like this - HOW many times have you run into road blocking conditions? I have played for 14 years and i have run into this condition a number of times. BUT in the past - the GM popped on and fixed it. IT TOOK 2 minutes. NOW - it’s a long story form CS about looking at links for help (HOW IN THE WORLD DO THEY THINK SOME EXTERNAL HELP LINK Is GOING TO FIX THIS?!).
AS was POINTED out in my bug report- this started when i could NOT get the ring on quest turn in. That happened right after Blizzard released an BUG filled update.
Yes. There are GMs. That’s who answered your ticket. But GMs do not fix bugs. There are only certain situations where the devs have a workaround for things. As this isn’t a known issue, there is no such thing.
If doing a full UI reset, deleting your cache folder and making sure you did the intro quest didn’t work… then a bug report is all that’s left. A GM cannot magically make an NPC come back unless a dev tells them there is a way they can work around it.
And do what if he’s then stuck there with nothing else in a phase that could be messed up due to whatever is happening? They don’t want it to snowball.
If he wants to try to get summoned, he can do that. But a GM isn’t going to YOLO it for him and hope for the best.
I was just pointing out that GMs are the ones who handle tickets and they have all of these policies and rules about what they are allowed to do. So if a problem crops up outside of their bubble of issues then it takes someone from another department or an employee higher up the chain to actually do anything. The issue is whether or not that happens. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t or maybe it gets sent and they don’t ever get to it.
I know it sucks. It’s been a recurring complaint for a very long time.
