Dear Blizzard, why are you so quick on destroying warlocks in pvp - but not any other class in the game?
You’ve ignored Arms Warriors destroying people with 30k Mortal strikes in s2 and now
You’ve ignored Ret Paladins 60k Templar Verdicts since S2 and continue to do so now
You’ve ignored Feral Druid’s Convoke the Spirits hitting 40k Ferocious bites
You’ve ignored Vesper Totem hitting for 70k since S2 (EDIT: THIS IS NOW GETTING NERFED)
You’ve ignored MM Hunters one-shotting you from stealth with 30k aimed shots
You’ve ignored Assassination Rogues one shotting you in one stun with Sepsis/Vendetta tier set (Only a 50% nerf which isn’t enough, it still one shots you)
BUT
Affliction Warlocks getting kill potential with Deathbolt instead of just padding damage with weak DoTs - Deathbolt immediately gets adjusted to be a 3 second DoT effect, rendering it useless, a dead talent, and a waste of soul shards now. Remove the cost of Deathbolt and it will be played again, I promise you.
Demonology was finally being played after Affliction was almost killed with the Deathbolt nerf, and got a chance to hit as hard as the other classes do - Demonbolt and the Decimating Bolt covenant legendary gets destroyed barely a month in. (This one was kind of absurd but the Covenant legendary did NOT need a nerf, just nerf the Balespider’s Legendary)
Now, as of May 31st, they’re removing Demon Armor for Affliction/Destruction and giving all 3 locks specs a passive 10% stamina buff to adjust for the change…while removing the MS nerf to the Demonology Fel Guard pet (the only good change in my opinion)
THIS CHANGE IS HORRIBLE! IN A ONE-SHOT MELEE META, REMOVING THE ONLY PASSIVE ARMOR BUFF TO A PRETTY IMMOBILE CLASS THAT GETS SHUT DOWN INSTANTLY WHEN TRAINED WILL KILL. THE. CLASS. ANY WARLOCK PLAYER WILL TELL YOU, WHEN THEY PORT/GATE OR SOULSHAPE IT IS USELESS WITH HOW MUCH MOBILITY AND STICKING POWER THESE MELEE HAVE.
Resolve Trinket was overtuned, and the Tier Set for Destruction was overtuned yes, I’m not going to lie to you. But that’s all you needed to nerf, these things were the only thing carrying Destruction to make it a viable spec in PvP as it had little to no representation on the ladder before these things were added, but in typical Blizzard fashion, they have decided to take it one step further and make a complete unnecessary change to the CLASS and hurt another spec while doing so.
WHAT’S NEXT BLIZZARD? AFFLICTION HEALING NERFS TO DRAIN LIFE AND INEVITABLE DEMISE?
My point of this post is to say that Warlocks shouldn’t be either OVERTUNED or UNDERTUNED, and should receive reasonable changes to keep the specs balanced, however Blizzard doesn’t seem to understand what makes a Warlock viable, and continues to either destroy certain things that made them viable all together and make changes that weren’t needed or asked for. All 3 specs are not BAD and utterly useless, they do great damage and can still be viable, however they’re just not as GOOD as the other specs existing right now, and were made viable by tier sets, resolve trinket, etc. Adjust the things that made them overpowered, not completely DESTROY them.
Here’s a suggestion: Instead of removing the Interruption protection from the Resolve Trinket, make it so when you get interrupted/crowd controlled, the duration of the next interrupt/crowd control effect has it’s duration reduced by 20%.
