I think the main point a few on this post are missing is that ERA was unchanged for many years. It had very few minor updates but nothing like what we saw yesterday. This is why people are upset and are now weary of these updates.
They weren’t asked for, and now they are causing ERA, which has had very few issues at all since BC launched, to have many issues.
I had stayed unsubscribed once classic TBC was introduced and 95% of the ClassicEra playerbase was gone.
2 weeks ago, I finally resubscribed. You know what pushed that decision for me? The realization that Blizzard was still hosting ClassicEra all this time with very minimal changes. CONSISTENCY I believe is the key word. Fans of Vanilla WoW like CONSISTENCY.
When I saw the opportunity for consistency, I resubscribed.
Now, after yesterday’s update, although the game is more or less the same game, I’m not sure whether or not I’ll resubscribe and I’m unmotivated to even continue playing, fearing the worst for drastic future updates to my favorite MMORPG.
I wish it didn’t have to come to voting with my wallet. I wish Blizzard would just realize themselves how much uncertainty and worry they’re placing on Vanilla WoW fans, realize their mistake, and just promise us some Vanilla servers that will never see any drastic changes so we can all just freaking RELAX
I have logged on. The talent trees don’t function how they did pre-patch. Some of the issues I’m talking about are reported issues from multiple people in my guild as well as people on these forums.
Everything you type comes off as second hand information.
You state you logged on and the telent trees do not fuction as before, what does that mean? When i personally logged in this morning i personally saw that my telent tree was empty, no skills applied and it had a new button to set a role as dps/tank/heal.
Also you are talking about complaints from guildies. From your own personal experience after loggin into the game and playing what have you persoanlly experienced with the patch changes?
Exactly how are the talent trees not working as they were pre patch, the client didn’t change anything about the actual talent trees and even the bug that they fixed didn’t really impact the talents, it was simply a display bug which prevented you from seeing your talents.
I have already stated the talent tree do not function the same as they did pre-patch. They do not display how many points you’ve put into each tree.
Also, yesterday and today, I have experienced (with add-ons disabled) delayed server response which for me seldom happens, but has happened many times since the update yesterday.
I haven’t even gotten a chance to play much, and I’ve already experienced a few of the reported bugs that were not present before yesterday’s “patch”.
Before somebody says, “those are small issues”, the point is, with adequate testing and even an ounce of planning, these issues are minimized to the community. Lets not forget, there are likely many bugs that haven’t even been caught yet.
As of yesterday I could not queue for bgs using the instance portals. Not really a big deal but it was annoying since I made my way to the AV vendor to buy water. Flew over the arathi and no luck getting the queue from that gate either.
It’s really the little things in my opinion… People play the game a certain way and many of them have been for years/months. When you screw with that, people are bound to be upset, and IMO, are justified.
