Blizzard is farming our wallet too hard

I don’t have a problem with the store, because I don’t even want most of the stuff they offer.

I know some people are really effective at earning gold, but I don’t worry about it much, so I don’t have a good feel for what it’s possible to make if you’re serious about it. About how long does it generally take to earn enough gold to buy a token?

I know that the $14.99 for the sub is an hour or two (depending on where you live) even at a crappy low-paying job.

You be careful in your gold pit there! A lot of people don’t realize how many old timey millionaires drowned trying to swim in their huge piles of gold!

I don’t like it either, but there are enough players feeding on that FoMO assembly line for the producers to go about it another way. All they care about is showing off the new available cosmetics. Gameplay doesn’t factor into it at all.

No one is forcing you buy any expansion.

Not true at all.

Completely optional.

Completely optional.

You conveniently left out all the mogs, mounts and pets that are earnable in game.

If you are an adult with a lack of self control then that’s on you.

Then ask Blizzard for a refund then. They will give it to you but then TWW expansion will get locked on your account and so will any character you have above level 70.

Every single microtransaction is optional.

Then why are you playing WoW and not one of those that you mentioned if you are so unhappy with WoW?

You were paying less than U.S.A. subscribers adjusting for prices for the longest. The price increase in Canadian subs bring it up to pay equal to the sub cost we pay here in the USA.

Are you a sweaty player or not? Don’t buy tokens to buy consumables then, what the hell. I don’t know why the “average” player has a problem with feeling the need to buy tokens and every minor throughput gain, but it’s all in your head.

Stop buying stuff, you’ve got a problem.

If you feel that strongly about a particular mount on the store, take your time and use gold. If you feel that strongly about every mount on the store then you’re doing this to yourself

Very good point, to keep them safe I have implemented a tub size swimming area, to be filled with up to one foot of gold coins at a time only

Yes he conveniently left out that purchasing two subs for a streamer on twitch to receive an item is also bad for the “overall health of the game.”

The WoW token is very efficient

That’s kind of what i’m getting at, you need to be unhappy before you quit? Is this confusing?

Not really how it works but alright lol

yeah, that bruto 2 was something I had already decided if they ever had it on the cash shop I was buying.
A lot of my game ends up revolving around farming and selling stuff and i hate having to run back to the AH and that AH alt thing gets tiresome real quick having to mail crap 12 at a time lol.
90 bucks and done…well, bought it for two accounts so, twice that lol

The stuff on the store is optional.

could that have been caused by the ex banging me in the head with a frying pan? :joy:

As someone that just wants to participate in WoW endgame content, can you at least see the point where crafted gear/consumables are expensive, and the most efficient way by far to get gold is the WoW token? You don’t make enough gold just through playing the content to pay for this stuff like you used to be able to

Because that’s really what people dislike, arguing if something is optional or not totally disregards the argument

I am actually unsubed.

Unless you live outside the states.

Good for you, fight the power!

If you purchase the 12 month subscription, you actually get your sub for about $12 a month. If you purchase a token it’s only $20. Not everybody buys the high-end edition for the DLC which puts it around $40. If you’re gonna speak to the pricing issues make sure you’re quoting the correct prices and you should also stipulate.

The fact that blizzard has never raised their subscription rate in almost 21 years. I can’t think of any other digital company who hasn’t raised their rates just in the last 21 months. Enen Netflix jumped from $4.99 to $15.99 in a course of 15 years. By that ratio, we would almost pay $50 a month to play the game.

And before anybody steps in and says I’m a blizzard schill, i’m simply expressing the facts rather than going with the overreaching hyperbole of the original statement made in this thread. If this is too expensive, I’m sure there are plenty of other quality MMORPG’s that you could move onto.

That’s exactly how it works. If you fly into an airport and go to a currency exchange and convert $20 Canadian to US dollars at the current exchange rate, you’ll get about $15 (minus the service fee). So when you’re spending $19 Canadian on a WoW subscription, you’re spending the equivalent of a US citizen spending a little under $14.
